J and K keys

I used to be able to use them for flipping through galleries and, when on image pages, between images of that set for the tag I arrived at the image from. But now, J and K are only able to flip through galleries, and if I want to flip through images, I have to click the left and right arrows at the top of the screen - J and K no longer work.
 
Is this an accident, or by design?

J and K work just fine for me on image pages. You sure it’s not this bug eating keypresses?

So it’s a Firefox bug and not on the site?

One post mentions it happening in Chrome too, so no.
 
Do the keys work if you click at an empty spot on the page first?

It’s got to be a bug on your computer/browser; J and K are working perfectly on my end.

Yes! Thank you. But I didn’t have to do that before.
 
Also, this is a pretty unadvertised feature. Is it officially detailed somewhere? I know I read about it once, that’s how I know about it.

Meh. I find it mostly annoying. Too often I wanna hit L toget into the tags and accidentally hit K and switch to another post.

At the bottom of the page, there’s a link called Keyboard Shortcuts. But yeah, it’s kinda out of the way.

I love the J/K page shifts. I also use FLUI a lot. It’s almost possible to navigate the site with keyboard only.  
Once upon a time I asked if it was possible to set up a similar page swap system for image comments, but the question probably got buried under other considerations.
