To note that we haven’t built any new default filters yet; we’ll be doing that shortly.

Is it possible to remove it? It looks hideous and crowded to me.
Not to belittle your hard work for it, but I really just don’t want to see it because I don’t filter.

I miss the show so much
Seems to work. Got a few “oops” pages while editing my filter (I moved the default spoilered tags to the hidden list), but they got saved anyway.
The top bar is getting quite crowded. May I suggest moving certain items to a, say, drop-down menu? The Filter, filter combo box, Settings, Account and Logout could reside there. The menu could be placed right where the logout button is now.

No - it’s not going anywhere.
The length of the box in the top bar is defined by the longest filter name; in your case your default legacy filter will be massive. You can rename it in your filter settings.
We are looking at ways of improving the menus at the top of the page, especially to support this.

How about moving it next to the search box? There’s more space for it there. It’s not bad when the user isn’t logged in, and it is next to the other user stuff, but it looks like the notifications are the number of filters as it is.
Still, quick filter box. Cool.

So, legacy filters just means other people can use your filter if they like it? Weird.
Clover the Clever
No, legacy filters are yours and yours alone - they’re the filters you had before we changed it all.

lol No not really JK, but seriously this seems ok its a lot more simpler in my opinion to use when it comes too filtering and hiding tags now.

Yeah, I’d like it better there. I understand that other people really want it, and I don’t want to remove it from the site, but I really don’t like how it looks cluttered where it is.
EDIT: Just blocked it with Ad Block, I’m good. Everybody enjoy their filter bar.

No Thank You
I wish we had the visibly tags thing still. It’s easier for me to add things to the visible list than it is to go through my blocked list and remove it. I made a separate filter list, but then I realized I’d have to maintain both of them.
Oh well.

I just use what I used before anyways; the same tags I hid before are still hid now, with the exception of manually hiding the stuff like ‘explicit’ or ‘grotesque’ tags which were initially automatically hidden. Which means that this new filtering system means nothing to me in terms of improvement.

Go to the filters, go to ‘edit filter’, and type in ‘artist:’ followed by the name of the artist you don’t like.

How about things that (at least used to) get blocked by default, like spoilers for individual episodes? Will they still get blocked if we use a custom list, or do we have to add them ourselves?

Really? I thought it was easier to just go into the settings tab.

Neither do we - but we have a choice of trying to fix everything before we release everything, or releasing things as we do them once we’ve gotten things acceptably usable/working. The latter (what we do) means we can get feedback faster and correct our direction if we’ve got things wrong faster. We’re looking at spending some time on the interface soon, in any case.

Right now you’d have to maintain that in the custom list, yes.
One thing I’ve considered is having an inheritance property - basically have a way for filters to inherit the tags of a ‘parent’ filter - but this is a quite complex proposition.

I ran into a little bug with my legacy filter. The tags I had the default settings with were hidden when they should have been spoilered and vice versa. For instance, “seizure warning” pictures were hidden while explicit images were spoilered. This didn’t apply to any tags I had specifically filtered, though.
I’ve got it fixed now. I just thought I should mention it in case anyone else has the same problem.
