But will these be changes us tech peasents will be able to notice?
Anyone who doesn’t know the various keyboard commands for italics, bold, etc. in Markdown will eventually have to start using the actual buttons above the text field.…Also apparently line breaks in inline links are no longer supported? I had to make your username and the quote two separate links instead of just hitting [Enter↩]after the username and Ctrl+Ving the quote on the next line.

Consistency has been one of my biggest complaints about markdown. Derpi moving to markdown and away from their “kinda the same but not quite”-markdown is a move in the right direction.
(i still prefer bbcode tho)

I don’t like that, though (ˇò_ó); a big blockquote box is a waste of space if I’m only replying to one thing, especially if it’s in a longer post.
Also just personal preference, but I definitely do not like that it automatically converts single and double quotation marks into ~~smart quotes~~ now.

Yes, please can this be fixed? It has to preserve whitespace.
If I add larger breaks, I am consciously doing so for a reason and I expect the parser to keep them like that.

The whitespace thing is still going to bother me, though. At the very least the gap between paragraphs should be made a tiny bit wider (one-line height) so it doesn’t look scrunched.

It took me a week to figure out how to fix that. I really, really hated the fact that CommonMark requires empty lines to unnest quotes.
