If only the people in charge of this community cared about it as much as we do. Or at all, even.

I’m staying mainly because I want to see how many people will leave/are leaving, how many people will stay/are staying, and whether or not it’s going to be enough to affect how much art is being produced and uploaded onto this site. Another reason I’m staying is because the light mode background color palette on here is a lot easier on the eyes than the one on Ponybooru, and I don’t even know if the one on Ponybooru has a light mode option.

Notice how they said “nazi ponies” and not “nazis”? They don’t support nazis. I don’t support nazis. And yet the Twitter mob stuck their foot in it anyway, accusing the booru itself and all its staff members of being fascist. There is no one in this thread, you included, who supports nazis, and you are a fool if you think this much trouble and censorship was worth dealing with such a non-issue.
 
As has been shown in another thread, Aryanne as a character was declining in popularity over the years, so there goes the entire argument that started this whole mess in the first place.

If I get banned for this, oh well, but this has gotta be just about the worst administration I’ve ever seen, as an administrator of a couple different things myself (non-pony related) at one point.

I’ve been silent through all this. I’m probably still staying here. I’m used to this place.  
My stance is in a middle ground, where moderate restrictions/censorship is ideal. Though, easy-going, I don’t demand that ideal be completely fulfilled.
 
It just reminds me that you can’t please everyone. In the end, a stance has to be made. There will be people disappointed. There will be backlash, no matter what.
 
In my opinion, it’s not gone too far. We’ll see how the new policies are carried out. Where the site goes.
 
I can’t deal with people. I’ve always appreciated the staff for what they do, whatever the choice may be.

I’m not fully sure what I’ll do. I will try to stay here, but I don’t know if the site stays here for me.
 
If the “in 24 hours” schedule is accurate, I will be asleep when the hammer comes down. When I wake up, Derpi might not exist anymore. Or it exists, but it will be in complete chaos.
 
Either way, I will miss you guys. I’ve been visiting Derpibooru every day since 2012-06-17, that’s 2945 days in a row.

Thank you for being reasonable. I think the same thing, and maybe a change in leadership would help, but there is little chance of that happening.

just for the record, i’m not leaving this site after all. i’ll still be here to peruse art support artists that i feel are worth supporting. nothing else tho, no derpi community collabs or anything like that. i’m well and done with that.
 
this war i’ve been waging has gained me nothing and cost me everything. my passion for the fandom is gone, my trust in the community has evaporated, my enthusiasm for the show itself is torpid, and everyone else (including myself) thinks i’m just a loudmouthed asshole. i lost. my say in the matter is irrelevant. it stings like a motherfucker to come to that realization but it is what it is. losing one of my longtime twitter mutuals over my singular obsession with this drama is what finally broke me. i don’t care anymore. i don’t care if this site turns into fucking /mlpol/‘s PR rep.

Honestly even if many haven’t been posting for that long a lot of us have been around since 2010-2011 which is a long time. I think in general a lot of people have been thinking about moving on in any case, and with everything that’s happened recently I think it’s partly just sped that up. DA changed its layout making people quit posting there, Youtube has become more mainstream, more crowded and easier to get hit with copyrights and takedowns encouraging less posting. Derpi and EquestriaDaily have been dealing with this controversy encouraging people to post less. In general, I just think times have moved on and sort of left the fandom behind them. I think the circumstances that allowed for it to grow are gone and with the show no longer airing (a big one that’s encouraging less fan-content plus no massive con’s) I think people leaving was bound to happen either way outside the controversy, just at slower speeds.  
Not entirely sure where I stand myself but I can empathize with the feeling that the golden-era of creativity, forums and fandom are long gone and I think the breakdown of that on this site recently is just another indication of that. I think the MLP fandom is likely going from one of the bigger fandoms to just a regular medium-sized fandom, which there is nothing wrong with and might even be preferable to some, but will obviously feel different and less vast and creatively astute in scope (which has already been happening). Back in the day, every morning there was something new being put out, either by the show or usually by fans, it was hard to keep track of it all which made sites like Equestria Daily that was keeping tabs on it all popular but that necessity has broken down with the fandom speed slowly down considerably over time. I’ve not really been a fandom person, MLP outside of things I grew up with was a rare thing in the first place for me to be involved with. The controversy doesn’t change me staying (but has raised concerns for me) but it, along with other factors does make me wonder if I among many others will still be here in 5 years or so? Idk. Genuinely have no clue. I could end up staying for months or years. I just know when it feels like time, I’ll know.
