I’d guess that there are different levels of anonymity expected here. In one case there are people who absolutely don’t want their art to be associated with them (currently anonymous artist). On the other, there are people who just don’t care to create an artist tag. They might draw something and post it without leaving any contact info, but they don’t really have a strong desire to stay completely anonymous. (This concept is based on TSP’s post here)

To be clear, we are not exactly changing our stance on anything here and we are not going to suddenly start allowing loli/whatever unless every country decides that it’s a non-issue, which probably won’t ever happen.
 
If I recall correctly, TSP’s stance is that we will tolerate UK laws to an extent; if that extent goes beyond loli and they impose laws like “porn of non-human characters is banned” then the major web filters may as well block Derpi in the UK because there is no way we’d ever comply to ridiculous shit like that.

IMHO, I think that (gently) shaming users for posting images with only three tags when there should clearly be at least a dozen (for example) should be acceptable. Seriously, tagging isn’t hard. Missing a tag or two is understandable, we all forget, but when you’re at 25% of the tags an image should have for any blacklist to function, you’re failing HARD.
 
As I write this, I just fixed two from the same user with three tags each. Both ended up with no less than a dozen and it was simple sh*t, like not putting ‘oral’ tags. It was literally ‘Cadence’, ‘explicit’ and the artist’s name - I know it’s technically all a picture needs, but really, ANYONE can do better than that. IDK, it just irritates me, that something so simple as tagging-failure is given a free pass and then when people complain about seeing things, it’s literally always; “Use a blacklist.” IMO, that’s not right…

To be clearer, French law says lolicon isn’t okay too, and it’s not any more lenient than the UK to my understanding.
 
As for site users and risks of viewing content in the unlikely case where suddenly the UK and France decide loli is okay and we allow it, it is much more likely people have been and will be arrested for looking at porn in general on Derpibooru (in places like Singapore). We have that big disclaimer on the filters page about making sure you’re legally allowed to see stuff for a reason.

I think that if someone has a pattern of uploading images that they are not tagging properly - especially if they are intentionally tagging them to cause them “get around” people’s filters or to incite drama, then that would be worth reporting so the mods can look into it.
 
If there is a real pattern of that, and not just someone not knowing how to (or being too lazy to) tag things properly, then it should show up in the tagging histories of their upload history.
 
I hope that’s not something people are doing though.

I guess what I’m saying is; why is laziness acceptable for posters, but not for consumers? If I cannot be lazy (I am told I need to use a blacklist), then why is it that our posters are not held to the same standard and told (in the rules) that they need to do a better job at tagging?
 
I know we’re supposed to be; “excellent to each other” but come on, a little bit of self-policing would save the mods a ton of work that I have personally been told they don’t want to do. Yes, I am paraphrasing, but that was the jist of the end of the conversation I had with a mod regarding this very subject - something about telling people “Bad tagging is a crime” is not acceptable behavior here on Derpibooru. Again, IMO, it’s silly and seemingly arbitrary. I’ll follow the rules to the letter, but I still think it’s just plain silly…

To be fair, that particular uploader has been doing that for a long time. Hardly like all of them are like that.

The issue is one of consistency in application. It’s hard enough getting the moderator team to hold a consistent stance on everything (though we manage, mostly). If users start getting involved as well then any dream of consistency in enforcement and response goes right out of the window. Shaming users is bad form. Asking them politely to ensure that they’ve added the correct tags is fine, but the most re;able solution is to simply fix the tags, report and move on.
 
Besides, the rules are very clear about tagging now. If users are consistently not following them then they’ll be dealt with appropriately.

In his case the clue bat seems ineffective. He’s a unique case though: nearly every other uploader understands what tags are actually for and generally makes correct use of them.

I know this would call under crediting artists in tags and sources, but what about double checking the artist name in the tag? A few days ago I found a piece of art that I made posted here (note, it was before I joined). The uploaded made a typo in my name and I just happened to stumble upon it. It just concerns me because one typo can do a lot. Especially when crediting.

Like any other tag, that can only really be fixed if both A) someone notices, and B) that person knows it’s incorrect.  
There are just too many artists with too many different, unpredictable names to have a more efficient/effective system in place.

The “auto-suggest” feature does help with this to an extent. If a tag already exists, and someone types the first few letters of an artist’s name correctly, it would (hopefully) suggest the correct spelling to them.
 
Though if it’s a common problem (such as a name that’s frequently misspelled), we could always alias the incorrect spelling to the correct one, so that improperly spelled tags correct themselves.

Enough of this. You’ve been complaining about that for over two weeks now, despite like half the site’s staff telling you that those tags were valid.
 
I think it’s time you take a break from this site to get over it.

The image you’re referring to has no clear evidence if it’s consensual fun or rape, so that’s just entirely a matter of personal opinion and interpretation. I mean, I can form and state an opinion on that image and say if it is/isn’t rape, but that would be solely my interpretation of the image.
 
Just because I’m a moderator here doesn’t mean my personal opinion matters any more than anyone else’s opinion. I mean, if it was pretty obvious the image was intended to be nonconsensual, or if the artist said “yes, it’s rape”, that would be one thing. But I’m not going to enforce tags on an image simply because of a personal, nonmaterial opinion.

You can hide individual images by adding them to your complex hide filter using id:imagenumber. So for instance, if you wanted to hide this particular image of a cute quartet of ponies
 

 
you would go to your filter page and add id:476307 to the complex hide section. Bam, image gone.

For images where the theme of an image may not be 100% clear, or may be subject to debate (for example, friendships vs shipping), the artist’s opinion takes precedence.
