Tell us stuff that needs doing

When I submit a dupe report (usually for a forward merge because higher res), the page says “Dupe report succesfully submitted” or something like that. But when I refresh the page, it doesn’t show up, aka it appears as if there are no dupe reports for the image yuet.  
The weird thing is though, other users can see them. When I switch domains (aka not logged in) I can see my own reports as well.

It just takes a minute, I think?

It’d to do with site and browser cache. Chrome in particular angrily keeps keeps on displaying its own cache for minutes even if you force refresh.

I just started using the RSS feed and it displays the full image instead of thumbnails. Makes the RSS almost unusable if your feed has a large number of images and waste a lot of bandwidth.
 
Any chance the RSS can be made to do thumbnails as an option?

How about making the DNP list easier to find? I don’t upload much so I never thought of looking in the upload page for a link (which I find hard to read in that gray box so my brain wants to ignore it) and I’d prefer consulting it before hitting the Upload button anyway.
 
May I suggest a couple of locations where the link may be useful:  

Less something that needs doing and something I’d like to see re-implemented; the ability to watch/unwatch tags where they’re displayed under the images. Ideally, there’d be some way to similarly filter tags without having to go into the settings page so that people no longer have any excuse not to do it besides being whiny assholes.

What I’d really like is a ‘view images posted since last visit’ feature. Or ‘view images posted since arbitrary timestamp’ if tracking last visits isn’t an option.

I would like a search function for each of the sub forums

I’d really love it if I could search my upvotes and faves. I do’t want to look through 600 images for one picture.

That shouldn’t be too difficult a change, but we do have people that want to the full image in their feed and not have to go to the site; we might make it an option to chose, maybe, but for now it probably won’t change.

There’s a plan to reintroduce that with some added things. Clover’s been working on a backed change, K_A on a search update and jspenguin on image previews, so codewise we just don’t have the resources to get it in yet.

A function like that kind of exists already; once the homepage is in we’ll need to update the Lists page, which should make that publicly available, though I can’t say for sure.

One day… We want to revisit comment and forums to have them both look the same (edit options, avatars, in-site spoilers, etc), will probably get done then.

Name has to be exactly as it appears on the booru. As for searching votes, that’s currently not possible as votes are private and not indexed for the search engine, and I can’t say whether that’ll change. I can check with Clover to see what it’d involve.

Small thing, but a disclaimer like: “Uploaded content does not necessarily reflect the views of the moderation staff” or something like that in a place for people who get confused.

When you have time for small improvements a little thumbnail image by each alert on the notifications page would be more recognizable than only the image number.

If it isn’t hard, how about a keyboard shortcut to fave a pic?

I use opera, and I never even see dupes anymore unless it’s an exact dupe (ie, points you to ‘this image is a duplicate of #x’) then I get RIG yelling at me about a dupe and i’m all ’da fuq, it looks new to me!” Just some recent oddness in the past two weeks or so.

Though I’m reminded: on the subject of dupes. Part of the reason I really want a ‘since last visit’ feature is because of how dupes behave. If something gets uploaded again, flagged, and merged, it ends up where the newer upload was in order. I then come back the next day, start at page one and start paging through to see what’s new.
 
I reach the merged dupe and go ‘ah, I remember seeing this on here before, I must be done’. But I’m not done. There are new uploads that I haven’t seen because the picture has migrated to a later update date! And not seeing new ponies is the worst possible thing, obviously.
 
So, I don’t know what the reason for that behaviour is, but it bugs me because of what I just described. Maybe a revisit is in order?

I don’t know if this is something that NEEDS to be done, and if fact I don’t even know if this be a good idea, but what about when users downvote a picture it gets spoiled or hidden?  
This could be useful for blocking certain images, with out having to add something that would only wind up blocking 3 or 4 picture otherwise. In fact sometimes there isn’t anything to filter.

Oh okay. I kinda figured that was the cased.

what about a way to block images whit overlaping tags, like:
 
artist:ur-mom, explicit
 
that way we could avoid looking at explicit pics by “ur-mom”  
or would that be too much for the site’s hardware too?

Complex filters is something that is planned. The search update deployed today has it as one of its goals.

Just like the Recent Comment section, there should be something like that for the forums so we could keep track of what we’ve posted.
