Tell us stuff that needs doing

You might want to improve the consistency of the tag descriptions used when you’re uploading a picture when compared to the actual tags page.

According to the tags page, this picture should be tagged questionable, and according to the upload page, it should be tagged suggestive. I don’t think that what one part of the site says should take priority over another part, they should both give the same information.

Heh, yeah I modded this a bit and made it into a GreaseMonkey script that adds a “go to .ru/.org” button next the to the login/logout button. Thanks.
 
Wrote another two whose combination adds a “block this tag” button on tag pages, which just links to the Settings page with an extra URL parameter, and the other one sees that on the Settings page, adds it, and saves the settings.

It’d be handy to have another category, of “marked” posts, where the image isn’t hidden by a spoiler, but does get the same kind of text overlay if a tag is present.
 
Like if an image is absurd res, my browser might choke and die, so I’d want to know if that tag is present before I view an image. But just seeing the thumbnail is no problem.

Speaking of autocomplete, we could use something like of that sort here. Though, I’m used to the existing systems here.

If you hover over a thumbnail you should see an alt-text box with the image res and taglist. Of course you’re on a mobile, I imagine, in which case that obviously won’t work.

Like type in “princess” and see the image grid automatically fill with Celestia, Luna, Cadance and alitwi images before typing in the second part of the name?
 
We don’t have the processing power/money for that.

Perhaps SeraphimDawn meant some kind of tag prediction, like when you start typing “princ…” you’d get drop-down suggestions like “princess luna”, “princess celestia” etc. Something like this:

Oh, just text in the search bar? That’s doable, but atm the plans are to scrap the search engine and replace it, so can’t say if it’ll happen.

So this is how you delete your own pics, right. You report your pic as a dupe of some other pic (doesn’t matter which), then accept the report. Bam, your pic is gone. The comments in the other pic won’t make sense, but who cares. Just use >>0 or something.

Or you could, you know, just report the image and request it to be deleted for whatever reason instead of doing what might very well count as a violation.

What is that a violation of? Abuse of the report system? The mods won’t even see it, which is why reporting dupes was made separate to begin with. You report your own, dupe, you accept it yourself, mods are free to do other stuff, which is the entire point of the new system.

Well, considering that your method would dump unrelated comments into another image, I guess it could count as comment section vandalism even though that isn’t explicitly written on the rules.  
I’m just presenting a more responsible alternative, that’s all.

There’s kind of a reason why there are separate report buttons. The dupe one is only for that, dupes. The other is for outright deleting an image and not merging any votes or comments.

Semantics. There are two buttons because (spoilers) our mods are lazy. The new button is so that people can take care of our own posts so the mods don’t have to.
 
If you really care about it that much, then change the name of the button, or give us a 3rd button. (Or put that 3rd button on the edit page, so fewer people will see it.) People are worried about it getting abused, but we’ve had the ability to do it for a while now, and things are fine.

The moderation queue for dupes has a tab listing all merges made and by who, so if anyone starts getting funny with the system we’d see it listed.

 
Can you change this so princess luna and celestia are near the top of the list? It should be there already since they are used more than the other tags.

Can you implement buttons that automatically add formatting to a highlighted area? I mean there would be buttons like bold, italic, spoilers which, when you highlight something and click those buttons, the text will become bold, spoiler, etc.

Try adding a few more letters. That should make Luna and Celly appear.
