Starlight Glimmer is a major case of Enfant Terrible. And she just so happens to be the expected child of Cadance and Shining Armor. Twilight eventually become her niece’s mentor and teacher.
 
And over time, Starlight ends up becoming the Sunset to Twilight’s Celestia.  
Bitter, jealous, and runs away from home in search of seeking out a different path.
 
And to save the future from Starlight:  
The Starlight Glimmer from the “bad future” must be erased from existence.  
Twilight must ensure that her niece Starlight grows up to be a good and sane pony, instead of a jealous maniac who would rather destroy all of existence just to prove she’s the better pony.

I wouldn’t. I’d be overjoyed if Toski’s scenario was canon.

I would prefer a scenario where Twilight alters Starlight’s past and made the events where Starlight committed her crimes to never have happened. Minus the “family relation” part.
 
Notice how Starlight appeared in Twilight’s friendship class in the animatics fr the season finale. What if the events unfold but end up with Starlight being inside the classroom at the same time as before again, this time as a friendlier student of Twilight’s in an altered timeline where Starlight has never committed any of her crimes but is still unsure how friendship works.

I’m expecting the finale is going to make a complete circle. It’s going to end the same way it began. Just altered a bit.

Maybe we should make a separate thread for the whole Starlight thing so this thread and the opinions thread isn’t full of crap like this.

No, that would be real terrible. If she’s going to be reformed, then let her keep the baggage. That’s part of what makes a good reformation, them prevailing despite their past.

Because we have been losing our shit over the fact that || Starlight might end up as Twilights pupil||, that this thread and the opinions thread has been full of debates, arguments and theories, and im getting kind sick of it.
 
If we just have the one thread for it, hopefully we can discuss other stuff not relating to this.

Except Sunset didn’t really do much wrong. Starlight on the otherhoof, appears to be deeply lost, possibly to the point of no return unless something drastic is done to her.

You might as well have gotten rid of Starlight and replaced her with a changeling that looks like her. Part of a good reformation is rising above your past, not memory wiping it like a coward.

The synopsis of part 2 of the finale did say that Twilight’s efforts appears to be in vain. Perhaps she would be forced to take extra drastic measures she would not normally resort to to fix everything. All the friendship stuff might not be as relevant when the fate of Equestria and possibly their existence itself is at stake.
