Neighsay’s racism was born from tragic though still petty reasons. When he was young he felt in love with a zebra girl (not Zecora though, not every zebra has to be zecora), but both his parents and the parents of the zebra didn’t allow it and she had to move away.

I actually figured it to be the opposite. Where Twilight would love the debates, the legal jargon, and the little details.
And frankly I kind of see her as being politically naive to believe lawyers to be the hammer of justice all the time. I always saw her as somepony naively trusting of the status quo.

Anyone would love debates. She just simply believes lawyers themselves have dark hearts.

Rarity would be probably a Rockefeller Republican. Not overly traditional, but also would prefer pro buisness activities.

She also strikes me as a pony, like Andrew Carnegie, who started out poor but became rich through his own efforts and gave also was mostly benevolent to his workers and gave to charity.
I think Rarity would be the one who would believe in meritocracy and the American Dream for anyone hardworking enought to have the potential to get ahead.
So she might support subsidies for aspiring ambitious ponies.

Fluttershy murdered in the past. She’s utterly regretful, she spends nights without sleep. She tries to reassure it was in self-defense but she couldn’t help, something that night broke inside of her. She has a lot of guilt and often goes to the church to ask for forgiveness.
Rainbow Dash, exasperatedly, constantly tells Fluttershy swatting a mosquito while trying to sleep is not really a big deal.

The School of Friendship despite its gorgeous appearance is actually massively underfunded.
Its why it can’t hire teachers and they use friends instead.
In fact the building itself is an old mansion from some ambitious but naive nobleman who built it himself (albeit somewhat poorly) but was forced to sell it.
The building has great potential because it is spacious, and aesthetically pleasing but it also suffers from bad heating, bad plumbing and the cafateria food is still sub par.
