Equestria is much more secretive than the American government.

Lyra is seen as a nutjob. And while she is, she also sometimes has a point.

The Equestrian government keeps secrwts on things like Nightmare Moon or the Tree of Harmony’s location.

Twilight as a child aspired to work in a magical-nuclear power plant. She has a hobby of learning about nuclear power plants.
Applejack sometimes is concerned by this hobby and hopes Twilight never builds one once she’s on charge of Equestria.

Ironically, I’ve seen a fic with the opposite - Twilight suddenly finds out that Pinkie Pie is running a nuclear power plant beneath Sugarcube Corner and freaks out over it.

Despite the stereotypes associated with the music genres, Vinyl and Octavia are quite away from the typical stereotypes as far as their behavior indicates.
Vinyl does like loud parties and it’s a fan of electronics but is very chill, more of a listener and enjoys quiet time when offclock.
Octavia is indeed classy and interested in classic culture, but often has a shorter fuse than Vinyl, tends to be more ambitious and is somewhat more adventurous.

Honestly, that makes sense. I always saw Vinyl as the more reclusive or shy type, like how Deadmau5 and Daft Punk have explicitly confirmed that their iconic masks were because they were too nervous to show their faces on stage.
