Change demands you get off your ass, sacrifice and understanding of opposing views and knowing all about what you’re trying to change. It’s not be on the internet all day complaining about an obscure cartoon horse on a blog(and here’s another thing, perception of popularity, where the DWM people got wrong, Molestia is obscure outside the fandom).

You don´t need these things. You just need to blabber like a parrot. Telling everyone how cruel the world is. They´re trying, and they´ll fail. Easy.
 
Sure, molesting is a decent problem in the real world. But bitching around about Molestia isn´t the right way to deal with. It will NOT make any differences.

Hence why we “tag” sensitive subject matter as NSFW. JJ even placed warnings on his stuff on tumblr. And it should be filtered out to not include tags “MLP” or “my little pony”. That’s why we had an uproar as to why we didn’t like Yahoo censoring Tumblr, “making it safe for kids” when all they actually did was censor inappropriate content as NSFW. So unless someone searching for Molestia, it should not appear in general.
 
Overall the Internet is not a safe place for kids, and we argued with lawmakers about SOPA and censorship on the Internet, and stated it’s the job of the parents to safeguard their children from inappropriate content. And if given way to shut down APM blog, what to say Rule 34 sites? Or even this site?
 
Comments and jokes do have a place and time, but on the Internet, which is everywhere and anytime, tags, labeling, warnings and filters are the best bet.
 
I really just do not believe tasteless words out of a comic is really going to sway the actions of a person who wishes to do harm. If that is the case a lot of religious people have a lot to answer for swaying people to shame homosexuals, transgender and shaming women on abortion, first and foremost.

I think what angers me the most about this movement is not the motivation behind it - I can see what they’re going for, I really can, even if they aren’t handling quite as they should - but the utter stupidity of both sides. It’s entirely possible that pinkiepony is making this story up (hope she isn’t), but I need to use something for an example. Apparently, she was cornered by a group of anti-DWM bronies and had to resort to hiding in a changing room. So now the fucking crazies are coming out and driving the brony name even further into the ground, great. But every time something along these lines happen - brony threats, bronies making themselves look stupid, bronies being violent, etc.- the G1-G3 fandom and the rest of the DWM movement points their fingers and says “IF YOU STILL CONSIDER YOURSELF A BRONY U SHOULD BE ASHAMED BECAUSE OF THESE PEOPLE”. To quote a user on Tumblr talking about Pinkiepony’s incident:
 
“You see, the reason I use the wide sweeping brush stroke and say the fandom was better before Bronies was because it fucking WAS. Know what we argued about then? Scalpers taking all the good ponies and why we were irritated at Hasbro.

Don’t drag me into your fucking rant, princess. Seriously, has anyone seen the reactions of the G1-G3 blogs? I hate to generalize, but the majority of them reach for any opportunity to say “see look how much bronies suck we were here first”. Get over yourselves.
 
I think that’s what angers me most. This entire movement, which could have actually been something beneficial if they hadn’t focused on just one blog, has dissolved into picking at anything thrown.

G1-G3 fans haven’t exactly given me the warmest welcome whenever I try to interact with them….

To be fair, G4 fans are exactly the same on G1-G3 Youtube videos from what I’ve seen: “MLP got popular with G4, That makes it better than the others.” “LOL G1 ponies look like disgusting hippos XD” Or my favourite: “Unlike the other generations, G4 actually has antagonists.”
 
It’s a ‘lashing out at the unknown’ thing, I reckon.

Threatening a teenage girl? No just fucking no. All jokes aside, this is even close to okay. I can go for a heated debate on certain issues and agree to disagree, but really. This has gotten out of hand. Think I am done with trying to be civil or involve with either groups.

It may be made up for all we know. However, I agree that both no one should affiliate with this problem anymore, no matter which side they take. This has degraded too far.

Strange though, never had negative feedback when I did Molestia crossovers on adult comedy shows: the Boondocks (her as the Plot Warrior, or several scenes of American Dad, Ugly Americans, the Looney Tunes (her stalking Bugs instead of Luna, daffy duck as the Wizard, or One Piece with Chopper) was thinking of doing a couple but I think I’ll stay clear of the issue for awhile and stick to drawing.

maybe now would a good time to call this whole thing off I mean the issue is no longer as reverent given resent events. So maybe both side should drop the swords and put an end to the bull crap

Well Generation 1 has clearly some villains, even good ones too. So i’m told, since i never watched the previous generations. But G2 and G3 don’t have any good villains, afaik. Maybe some antagonists, but not really an icon like nightmare moon, discord or the changelings.  
But as i said, i don’t really know the previous generations. And that is the problem with it, as you said.

I think the magical friendship theme only really came with this generation (it was more “stop arguing and you’ll actually get something done” before).
 
And when you consider that the older fandom mostly developed without the internet (except G3-3.5’s), and the sheer size and speed of our one, you could say there’s a bit of culture shock involved.
 
Still, it’s not an excuse for people like those bloggers you’ve mentioned to verbally attack a group. It just extends the drama and makes the mature fans look bad.

Pretty much. G1 was an action-adventure show while G2 (which is technically still G1) was slice-of-life schoolkid stuff.
 
Dunno about G3, but I haven’t heard about any worthwhile villains.

I wonder if JJ got a surge of new followers on his “Princess Molestia and Gamer Luna” tumblr recently. I don’t see any reason why would anyone un-follow it, anyway.

Considering how much flipflopping pinkiepony has done since she decided to start this shit, the odds of her being honest about getting face-to-face threats (or face-to-face anything) from bronies are nil.

G3 had diddlysquat. The closest thing to conflict in the entire run of that show was “I’m afraid to start a conversation with so-and-so”. No villains, no action, no personality conflicts (because basically every character had the same personality). And half the episodes had the exact same plothook - preparing for an upcoming party. Running out of minor variants on said plothook did nothing to deter the writers from continuing to use it.

Remember how she’s been saying she doesn’t want anything censored or to remove JJ’s blog?
