MLP Antagonists Thread

I haven't found any on here, but I know there would be plenty of people who wouldn't mind discussing about the franchise's villains. :) Let it be that they've been reformed, have been absent for a long time, only have been interested duces in the comics, or are from past generations of the series — all are welcome!
 
The only rules are as followed:  
•Keep it civil.  
•Spoiler content that relates to future episodes, or might be NSFW  
•The characters must have actually had a clear role as the antagonist in one way or another. Not something objective like “I think Celestia is great antagonist because blah.”

Anyway, I’ll just get this kickstarted here:  
•I hope that they bring back the Mane-iac again. She had an interesting design and was an amazingly comedic villain.
 
•I kinda miss Season 5 Starlight, it’s kinda odd watching Post-CRM episodes with her and how much she’s meelowed out. When she tried leading and motivating the changelings last season, I was escatic over how she still had that moxie of her Equal days in her.
 
•If we have one more Daring Do episode, I’m dying to see Ahuizotl one last time since he’s her main rival, and in terms of screenshot his henchponies have earned it far longer than he has.
 
•If they introduce the Abyssinians into the show, I kinda hope that they involve Catrina into the story.

Has Catrina been cast in anything FiM related? I don’t read the IDW stuff as much as I used to.

Unfortunately no, not officially. The only thing I can see is that maybe she has some inspiration put into Capper’s design, but that’s only a guess. I can easily see a story where they visit Abyssinia and learn about her. And either by the means of herself or a modern descendant, must deal with a conflict.

Meanwhile, I think Rockhoof and Maud between them could take down Lavan with their earth pony magic.

Is Radiant Hope considered an antagonist?

Trixie should have been Twilight’s rival and the main antagonist against her. Instead they dropped the ball and treated her like garbage from the start, and then ripped away the only thing she had to make super special Twilight look even better. The creator of the show wanted a bigger role for Trixie becoming a villain.

That would be fucking badass. Maybe Lavan can be some sort of malicious demi-god sort of creature that terrorized Rockhoof’s home in G4?

I do, but I don’t read up on the comics that much. And her siding is a bit lost on me somce I only have previews to go on.

Ok, so redemption is a big theme in FiM, right? Now that the series is winding down, one of the big unresolved story arcs remaining involves the fate of Chrysalis.
 
The thing of it is, if you read up on her, she was originally conceived as one of those characters that is supposed to be just plain old evil and far beyond any saving grace. But as the years have gone by she has become a very popular character, and one has to wonder if another “reformation” is indeed in the works.
 
Will she become a colorful, happy bug in the end? To me, the very idea seems almost ludicrous. Though I have to admit, they sure had me worried for a moment with that Season 6 finale.

I can’t see her becoming completely reformed. She’s way out in the deep end mentally, and is just overall fun to have in the show simce she’s pretty much evil for the hell of it. Can she share her Love and benefit everyone, imclusimg herself? Yeah, but why not have it all to yourself to rule over with an iron fist?
 
The closest I can imagine to her beong “good” s maybe Teaming up with King Thorax and the New Changeling Empire against a common threat because she knows that everybody is pretty much fucked, and she can’t imagine it/them taking over the world because she probably has standards even though she is evil. She doesn’t care for any of her former subjects, but if it means preventing both of them from being killed — why not?

Have you ever read IDW’s Fiendship is Magic? (Recommended reading for insight on the origins of infamous MLP villains) In it, Twilight asks an imprisoned Chrysalis to tell the story of how she became evil. After tricking Twilight into unwittingly setting her and her minions free, she replies, “There is no story, I was born that way.” Good stuff.

While it isn’t confirmed or denied, a lot of people thought Chrysalis’ spell might allude to it.

Chrysalis is pure evil atm, but didn’t Meghan pretty much “confirm” her redemption?  
“That’s just my view, no one is evil just broken, as long as we can fix them, it will be fine” something among these lines, while showing the Chrysalis hoof scene, no less.  
If Chrysalis isn’t reformed Meghan will be a bit hypocrite, she wrote herself into a corner.

But why would Chrysalis be reformed? I’m honestly not sure of the reason other than needing to be consistent with their villain reforming.

I don’t think she needs to be reformed, I just find it unlikely that she won’t.

I remember seeing it. I think it’s like that it’s possible, and perhaps she isn’t 100% evil. Really super evil, but not 100% evil.

I think she should be reformed into a splat on a windshield. That’s the only kind of reformation she deserves.

It still feels so weird to imagine them forgiving her after everything.  
Especially Twilight Sparkle, Princess Cadence and Shining Armor.

They forgave Starlight. I’m only using her because she’s the most recent villain BESIDES Chrysalis to do something truly awful.
