Seems like they have it well planned out. But are the dates for global premieres or Russian ones? Pony Life debuted in summer, didn’t it?

All current shows tend to be renewed earlier than usual. I do remember Miraculous Ladybug was renewed for a third, fourth and fifth season before the second ended. It’s not that uncommon!

MLP is one of Hasbro’s biggest money makers, they’d be dumb not to order a second season of the show.

I wonder if the mane six will feature in g5? I know it’s a new generation but the 6 do have brand recognition.

Nope. Their final appearances are in the season 10 comics and Pony Life.

A Rainbow Dash or Applejack may appear but the character design and characterization will at best resemble the G4 counterpart.

For what it’s worth the leaks from a few years ago showed concept art for a redesigned mane 6 and part of the leaked emails also showed the staff wondering on if they could Tiffany Haddish to voice Applejack for the G5 movie.
 
So i think there is a chance the Mane 6 will appear in G5, at least for the movie.

I’ll be a devil’s advocate here: I think I would prefer G5 to be its own universe kind of like how Jojo Stone Ocean and Steel Ball Run are different universes.
 
I think it would give more creative freedom. And it could give a chance to have better worldbuilding. I always felt like MLPs worldbuilding while pretty good especially back in the 2010s, I feel like it’s a little rudimentary and I felt like it often had wasted potential.
 
I think G5 would be a chance to breath new life into the show. Who knows? Maybe it could be the new Last Airbender. Take what worked in G4 and expand upon it. Like the theme of friendship.

Yes, when Hasbro’s participation at the Festival of Licensing was announced there was a paragraph that mentioned a new cast of ponies.

I’d be said to see the mane six go but I guess it’s inevitable. Something tells me though that the new cast will be very similar to them…

I also think that the new characters will have the same personality traits as the Mane 6… Except for Applejack’s counterpart, who will probably have the tough, scrappy personality the production staff wanted G5 AJ to have.

I think - well, I hope - there’s more than 6 ways to write a good chracter.

Yes, I’d prefer it if the new cast weren’t just Expy’s of the mane Six, if they’re going to be a new cast, then they should do it right, and they should be their own characters.
 
That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a few tropes like the go-getter sports type like RB or the fashionista type like Rarity sprinkled in.

I would like a new spin on them if they do try them though.

Personally I always thought that they would keep the names but reinvent each one of them.

and they absolutely should, or they new cast would just end up being the old with a new coat of paint thrown on.
 
I loved G4’s main cast, but that’s specifically why I don’t want them in G5 at all if possible.
 
I want G5 to be a new story with new characters, not the same story with the same characters.

I completely agree! Do you think it should be a different universe too? Like how each Final Fantasy game takes place in a different setting?
