Oh, trust me when I say there’s a lot of things that I don’t like about the show and the fandom that made me feel really mad, but I made the effort to ignore them as much as I could, to avoid feeling like breaking some necks all the time.  
It’s not easy, but it can be done.

I’m getting sick of everyone acting like Starlight is just a Twilight clone. And I can’t believe the show basically made fun of that with Ember (and once more with a visual gag in the latest episode). It’s just adding lighter fluid to the fire.
 
Sorry if I keep ranting about the Starlight complaints, but enough is too much. It’s so ridiculous that it’s no different from a meme. A very unfunny meme. That should have died a long time ago.

It’s not, is it? It’s just the pointless hatred of people who just don’t understand a character and want their Unicorn Twilight back. I’m sorry, but Starlight Memens have been old, dull and completely unnecessary since Season 7. Who did not understand that, did not only not understand the show, does not even understand the simplest character development and hates probably the writers. My suggestion: If you have no idea, just shut up. Please? ;-)

Nothing against folks who enjoy PH. I enjoy the G1 and G3 show. But as I enjoy something that I recognize is absolute garbage, fans of PH should recognize the book to still be udder trash.

Project Horizons is very protracted and I’d argue needlessly mean. Like, there comes a point where the only moments of happiness are sex scenes.

As I understand it, the original Fallout Equestria was dark, but more in line with the dark comedy of the games and had a hopeful, if bittersweet, ending. Whereas Project Horizons is just straight up grimdark and every character is an unlikable asshole.

As I’ve described it to my friends, the original by Kkat wrote in the setting of the Fallout world, which happened to be dark, and so she wrote with the dark setting in mind with a clear understanding that it will be very dark by default.
 
Somber of PH didn’t seem to quite understand the setting to be already dark, and so his writing seems to act as a contest to prove to the fandom that he can write the darkest shit out there. In the end, it turns into something so pointlessly dark that it feels like beginner writers who feel the need to describe something as simple as blood simply for the affect they hope it will have on the reader.
 
Somber seemed to want to give himself a reputation to be incredibly dark, but it becomes laughable.
 
I’ve always told beginner writers advice following, “If you can take something out of your story and absolutely nothing about the story changes, then there is absolutely zero use for that thing to be in the story.” Seeming as Somber’s chapters stretch past 10,000 words every chapter, I have a feeling he’s the furthest from understanding this concept, and it shows in every weird monologue Blackjack has with herself, or every scene she’s in bed.
 
Sadly, I’m only half-way through the stupid book, as I can’t seem to motivate myself to read hours of useless fluff for a shit story.
 
Again, I feel I have to repeat myself in saying that I have nothing against the fans as long as they can recognize the story to be in some semblance of bad.

To copy what I said in my status post: I’m starting to get really sick of the leaks and early releases of MLP. Like how I was with the Starlight haters, I’d like to think that under the circumstances I’ve been extremely forgiving and patient up until now. But now I’m starting to get mad. This is getting ridiculous. What the Hell is going on? Why is this happening? It’s bad enough that I know what’s most likely gonna happen in future episodes because of that leaked synopsis list, but all this isn’t helping!

I’m definitely with you on the leaks (especially the ones from earlier this season that were unquestionably the result of outright theft). Early releases I try to be a little more accepting of, because I get that they’re a legitimate airing, and the US doesn’t have to have them first, and all of the other arguments around them. But really, the two a week thing from Australia is going to get very old very fast, especially with it effectively splitting the fandom (again) and placing some people in the position of knowing how the season ends weeks ahead of those going by the Discovery Family schedule.
 
What I really want more than anything is for all these places to air episodes on the same schedule, so we all have the chance to enjoy them (and whatever surprises they may offer) together. But it doesn’t look like that’s happening anytime soon.
