I’d rather see an MLP game on PC than anything, since it’s a far more flexible platform and something that a lot of people have. That, and toy companies and Nintendo handhelds have a storied history of shitty licenses partially due to the limitations of handheld systems and putting it on the Wii U is basically asking for it to fail.

The 3DS library seems to lean towards games for kids [Mario, Pokemon, Frozen, yadda yadda yadda] and you could get a Wii/late Ps2-level of graphics; just look at Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance:

What is a good licensed game based on a toy franchise on a Nintendo handheld?
 
There’s quite a few that are jokingly bad and if we’re going to take the “for kids” approach to this, then I don’t expect Hasbro to pull the funding to try and make it something different. It’ll just be another game aimed at kids that they want their parents to buy because of the title on the cover, like so many of the licensed kiddie games that clog up Nintendo’s otherwise absolute joke of non-1st party games library.
 
I’d rather have no game at all than the route that would obviously be taken with a 3DS game.

Unless of course WayForward develops like they’ve been saying they want to for years and they go the same route as the really good Adventure Time games on the 3DS.

Eh, this might convince others for some reason unbeknownst to me, but I’m not too fond of WayForward and the only game of theirs that I’ve played and liked was DuckTales: Remastered. Everything else was meh, and this is coming from a huge fan of platformers/metroidvanias.
 
So eh, this convinces me of nothing, really.

I don’t know if a MLP cart game would work. Games based on licensed works have a reputation for being bad. I can only think of a handful of licensed games that were actually good (Ducktales, Chip n Dale, Turtles in Time, Batman on NES, Aladdin for Genesis).
