Season 9 Discussion Thread [NO SPOILERS, DF airings only]

it's cool that this episode shows how far rainbow as come from the first few seasons.

The interactions between Dash and Quibble Pants were some of the best parts. That and Snips and Snails' scenes.

That and the Washouts shows a huge difference

*The Beginning of the End had Sombra return
*Sparkle's Seven had Zephyr Breeze return
*The Point of No Return had Moondancer return
*Common Ground had Quibble Pants return

Except for Uprooted, every episode so far has had a returning appearance from a past character. Hoping that this is a pattern that'll repeat throughout the season.

Seems like Common Ground is getting a lot of positive reception, but I still don't feel it. I know it's based on a real life story with Patton Oswalt and his daughter, but that aspect of it isn't really explored in the episode all that much save for a scene between Wind and Clear.

If it was more focused on the tough relationship between Wind and Quibble instead of the mediocre Buckball story, it could've been one of the best episodes of season 9.

Gonna have to miss this episode live, but I'll watch it tonight.

Honestly there’s really not much it gets wrong. It’s a nice, feel good story to me. I mean, it’s saying something when the worst thing I can say about it is that it’s slow and lacks energy. We’v Had episodes like that like AJ’s Day Off or Made in Manehattan, but this episode doesn’t share the problems those did

It's still a pretty decent episode, I just don't agree with anyone that says how it's fantastic or the best one of the season. It's something that could've had more.

I liked this episode, don't know why everyone else is being a Negative Nancy about it.

Way better episode than what I thought going in. Story and moral were on the simple side, but everything else with the characters was spot on.

Oh you know, demanding that the season have some "closure" on some threads and arcs, giving the spotlight to characters that deserve it, stop wasting it on "pointless filler" eps, get rid of the Student Six, make Starlight fade into the background, fire some of the writers, all that jazz cause don't you know? It's the last season and they have to make it count!

Just a heads up that this thread may become relevant starting tomorrow, as there's a very high chance Italy will be broadcasting the remainder of Season 9's first half over the next few days.

Leaks have happened so many times over the years it's hard to be mad at this point. It's sure disappointing though how Hasbro can't get their media distribution under control.

True, but whether leak or early airing in another country, it amounts to the same kind of annoyance. It's been so nice to have everyone on the same page after last season, even just in terms of fan discussion. I'm kind of not looking forward to having that disappear yet again.
