Congrats on being the first post on the 10th page of this thread! It has come a long way since it was first started last year.
As for the hairstyle, I really do hope that it appears in MyM. It doesn’t need to, of course, but it would be a really nice reference to the TyT shorts.

I can’t quite put my finger on it, I just know that the glitter is a metaphor for something. Izzy uses it to “uni-cycle” or make things new. Maybe it’s a bi-product of Sunny making new magic… Or maybe I’m stretching it here! Hehe.
I agree with DarkObsidian. There will be inconsistencies aplenty and that is because there is no single visionary driving the bus. MLP is a collective. It’s hundreds or even thousands of creative people bringing their ideas to the table. I’m okay with that. It’s what keeps it interesting. At the end of day what matters to me are cute little colorful horses being themselves, loving life, being funny and adorable and sexy and awesome. Whatever happens in NewGen going forward I know it will be good, because it checks off all the boxes.

Glitter.

You have the right attitude as usual, good sir. The thing with MLP is it’s so decentralized that it’s pointless to bicker about what’s canon and what’s not. It’d be naive to think that G5 is always going to play by G4 rules.

It is kinda neat learning how Alicorn magic works through Sunny. Seems that a lot of it has to do with having a complete sense of self: The swag she gets from Pipp, the bravery from Zipp, the inspiration from Izzy, the compassion from Hitch, and her belief in herself, among other things, coming together all at once at the right time.
I actually hadn’t thought about it that much, but yes. In principle, it is (once again) to bring the elements together. Just a little different. I just don’t know if it’s just supposed to feel like G4, or if there won’t even be a direct connection to G4 at some point. I’m still worried about that statement regarding the dragons. They haven’t been seen in generations. I mean, we’ll probably never get an accurate timeline, but we don’t have to in my opinion. I like (by now) when a show goes more in the direction of just showing things instead of explaining them in a big way. And thus leaves room for interpretation.
I’m guessing the glitter side effect is caused by Izzy’s influence.

Absolutely understandable. No hard feelings from my side. I’m not too big a fan of it myself, but I probably should have mentioned that I like it here because of my comment about the image.
Sunny’s glitter is OP, please nerf! Nah, just kiddin’. ;-D
I mean, I still don’t know if, or if not my theory is correct that Hasbro will try to combine as many of these, let’s say “individual parts”, that the G5 brand currently consists of, together. We will probably only see that with the show, respectively how much retcon Hasbro will do in the future. ^^
But let’s assume for a second that everything in TYT, the comics, and so on actually draws from the same canon, then I stand by my statement: Sunny’s Glitter has the potential of fissile uranium. And I don’t know what to think about that. (grin)

Make A Foal Of Me might have been slightly more enjoyable if it were Mama Sunny looking after her foalified friends instead of Pipp & Zipp, but it’d be just as well if that episode never existed.

This is how I would have done it: instead of showing the current cast of characters being transformed into fillies, show flashback scenes of their childhood. I still want to learn more about Sunny’s dad Argyle, and I think learning more about the parents of Pipp, Zipp, Izzy, and Hitch would also be fascinating as well. It could build upon all of the characters significantly.

For that matter, what about Sunny’s mother? No mention of her so far at all, as if she never even had one. Weird. Yeah we can assume she’s dead, but if that’s the case why don’t they just say so? Sunny had a great relationship with her dad but it’s like her mom is estranged, or did some horrible thing and went to pony prison and nopony speaks of her.

And/or additionally, bringing over the original description from the source if the image has one. Does NOT apply to the uploader adding several to a dozen tags after originally uploading with minimum to bare tagging.

I had a rather dark headcanon awhile ago that Sunny’s mother couldn’t bare the ostracization by the community of being married to Argyle so she left. And to this day no one knows where she is.
Now the mother wants to make amends for all she has done but is worried Sunny might not forgive her for abandoning them.

I am glad I am not the only one who is confused about what happened to Sunny’s mother. I have heard rumors that Sunny’s mother might be an Alicorn herself, similar to Princess Cadence with Shining Armor. If this is the case, it could explain why Sunny was the pony who got those powers. As to why she didn’t have her powers at birth a la Flurry Heart, well, that could be explained through the fact that nopony had magic at that time, and as such her Alicorn abilities wouldn’t manifest until later.
Of course, that’s all speculation. It’s also possible that her mother was an ordinary Earth pony like Argyle. But it is fun to think about at least.
