Underrated episodes/characters

In which we talk about characters/episodes/songs/whatever that that you really like, but aren’t exceptionally popular in the fandom as a whole.
 
For instance, “Look Before You Sleep” is one of my favorite episodes. I like the fact that it’s based almost entirely around character interaction rather than setting up some sort of weird situation to drive the plot. Also, it contains this:
 

 
Anybody else have an episode or something that they think should be more popular than it is?

“Raise This Barn” seems to be hated on a lot, but it had a pig hamboning in it. Little visual things like that are always fun.

I honestly view Snips (and to a lesser extent Snails due to being a bit more popular) as pretty darn underrated. He’s a pudgy, short goofball. That’s deserving of more slapstick at least, eh?

Zecora needs more love

We need more Doomie! And more Chickadee.

Mare-Do-Well was an episode I liked, even if it wasn’t really the best kind of episode about friendship and magic.
 
It was just a fun episode of pony, even when the ponies acted like total jerks (it was Season 2, they were required by law to be massive dicks in every episode) and the moral came off as hypocritical.

 
Just saying I wouldn’t mind seeing her again.

I like “Look Before You Sleep” and “Cutie Mark Chronicles.”
 
For characters, the Flower Trio need to make a reappearance or three.

Princess Cadence needs way more love, her number of pics is ridiculous compared to the other princesses!  
For episode, again, Cutie Mark Chronicles.  
Mystery on the friendship express is quite underrated too, the characters personalities flew perfectly.

Con Mane, because suave secret agents and espionage.

You know they almost never show Look Before You Sleep now on the Hub? At least when I’m watching it. It’s always a rerun of Return of Harmony or Over a Barrel. And I concur that Zecora needs to be fleshed out more.
 
Mayor Mare also gets little screentime, and she runs the damn town! Talk about underappreciated.

Forgot about Donut Joe. I don’t know why, but his brief roles were just great. He’s hammy about a city made out of donuts.
 
Plus, he’s a Bond clone in Pinkie’s warped head.
 
Iron Will could use more love, too.

Zecora and Gilda, I want to see more of them.

I’d love for the Mayor to get her own episode. It would be pretty awesome.
 
And yes, we sorely need a Zecora-centric episode.

Snips, Snails, Featherweight, Gilda, Cheerilee, Twist, Junebug, Star Swirl, Garble, Dumb-Bell Hoops and Score, Blueblood and Pipsqueak

I think that both Celestia and Cadance are underrated characters…though I understand why. If they got their own episodes focusing on them and hopefully their history, I personally would feel that they’d become better appreciated

Cadance kinda got some backstory in that “Crystal Heart Spell” book.
 
I’d love to see an episode about Celestia, though I don’t know how likely that is.

I agree that Zecora and Look Before You Sleep are incredibly underrated. Spike is pretty underrated too, but I suppose things have been looking up for him lately.  
I also think Sombra gets a lot more hate than he deserves.

Princess Cadance, my favorite princess and I think she’s a interesting character, especially after reading about the Crystal Heart Spell
 
Also Iron Will, he’s my favorite male character

The Crystal Empire episodes are underrated. I do get why people had issues with the these episodes but I wouldn’t call these episodes terrible. Compared to the wedding we get interaction amongst the main 6 which is some of the best in all of the two parters. Each character has a set piece of time where they get their time to shine. Even spike who mostly goes under appreciated in the series gets his time to shine with a heartfelt moment between he and Twilight as well as him saving the day in the end.
 
Only thing I could ask for is more Cadance/SA Development.
