What other kinds of mythological creatures would be cool in MLP?

Not exactly be mythological, but it be nice if they mention any extinct race.

For the FiM universe, I imagine them to be a bovine race that were able to use magic much like the unicorn ponies.

What happened to this thread?

The Ladon, a serpentine dragon of Greek mythology that twisted around the tree that grew the golden apples (perfect way to tie in Discord, here :P) Often had multiple heads, defeated by Heracles.

Looks like the Serpent and the Forbidden Tree of Eden.

I would like to see the Tyranids make their appearance, despite not being mythological creatures.

Anything creatures that are artificially made such as animated machinery and smog creatures.

You’d be surprised how much the Bible takes from Greek, Roman and even Assyrian mythologies.

I’m hoping Sombra would return with minions in the future. Shadow Ponies.

Maybe.  
I just thought it would’ve been so cool to have Sombra summon minions out the shroud as he encroaches to the center of the empire. Have the mane 6 desperately fight them off while Twilight tries to retrieve the Crystal Heart.
 
And Luna making an epic entrance with a cavalry to aid them in the fight against Sombra.
