Why does this website hate Cozy Glow so much?

The thing is this reasoning implies that no other character that reformed in the series would have also learned the power of friendship in frenemies. Considering all it took was for fluttershy to call him a friend once to start doubting himself, Discord showed more signs than cozy and if u go back to his first episode he looked sad when twilight didn’t wanna join in on the fun. Starlight would have probably been like chrysalis but we know at some part in her life starlight was good, while chrysalis stated she always dreamed of conquering since she was small.

Not really. Discord only showed signs after Fluttershy started helping him despite knowing who he was and what he was capable of. Cozy, meanwhile was never given any sort of chance after her defeat and she alongside the trio showed signs of possibly accepting true friendship all on their own without the same sort of help that Discord and Starlight needed. Therefore, they did show more signs, it’s just that they never got the help they needed to realize that potential.

the reason she was used for his plan in the first place is because she was a evil maniacal psychopath who deserved power if she wasn’t she wouldn’t be one of twilights worst enemies, so i get some of u guys have a hate boner for discord but it is no way makes her less evil than she is.

fluttershy called him a friend once and he was visible effected by it and u don’t get what im saying, stating them understanding and or learning the power of friendship in frenemies implies that no reformed characters would have been the same, it portrays the trio as having some king of moral high ground when it simply isn’t the case.

Hateboner? You seem to be the one with a hateboner here. Discord got her out of prison to use her in very cruel ways for some prank which eventually put her and Equestria into greater trouble and ensured that she receive a greater punishment. What he did in s9 was one of the most vile things anyone has done in the show.

Fluttershy called him a friend despite knowing what he was like and what he was capable of. Cozy got none of that. As soon as she was revealed to be a villain, she was immediately given up on. The fact that she and the other two got as far as an almost revelation on their own without any sort of reformation attempt shows more potential in them then Discord had prior to his release.
 
I never said that the trio had any moral high ground, I said that they simply had clear potential to change. Something that they were never given any sort of help in realizing despite similarly evil villains getting it themselves. They deserved better.

They reformed the life long raciest, who actively abused his power and influence to enforce his bigoted views.
 
And if I may further obliterate that argument they reformed someone who caused a collective hundreds of years of suffering, over and over.
 
Given that villains who have done far worse than them (Except arguably than Tirek, as who knows how many he killed.) were reformed its very easy to see these three would have.

Racist hits close to home and racism is bad however it in no logical way compares even to a small extent of what cozy did. Also considering neighsay was trying to protect his country from those he sees as a threat misguided but never evil.
 
Yes other characters that reformed did terrible things too, however they ultimately choose to do the right thing some struggled more than others but ultimately choose to do right at the end of the day once they understand friendship.
 
The trio however despite knowing how friendship can be, never look back never have any remorse they instead double down make it known they won’t change or give up, after many attempts of mass murder and seal there fate. And then it goes well “its because they weren’t given a chance” when someone tries to constantly murder u and your friends and has no remorse, your not obligated to give them a chance. No one owes them anything, not discord not the princesses not starlight not anyone.
 
They wouldn’t be in their situation in the first place if haven’t never ever tried to conqueror and enslave there country. There is one thing to want better for someone and i see where there coming from to a degree but its another to make others come off as worse to push a agenda and to turn them into blameless victim. The show choose not to reform them to teach a lesson about the real world. But either way i get both sides but im done with this, lol apologize if this seems like rant.

I disagree. The show ran out of time and that’s it. If it had kept going these three would be reformed and there would have been new bad guys to complain about.
 
 
And by my math Starlight resisted reform more times than Cozy.

Thats what I thought. The finale we got was a backup plan in case the show ended. If the show continued,the villain’s may have reformed,or some did some didn’t,and Grogar would’ve always been Grogar and maybe he’d be a bit more proactive… Or it would still have been Discord. I dunno the ending was a mess.

Yeah I mean if you look at the number of episodes it took Starlight to reform, if she had been introduced as late as Cozy she would have been doomed as well.

I’ll agree that the longer the show ran, the greater the chance of any individual villain reforming. But I don’t know if that’s inevitable, or even a good thing.

Oooff, I don’t like the sound of more seasons for the show. I mean, I love it despite the flaws, but I don’t think the show needed more seasons. If they wanted to develop the three villains we got, then they had the chance, from seasons 4 to 9. But it was so filled with filler episodes and ridiculous concepts that they didn’t focus on developing the villains.
 
Not just for Chrysalis and Tirek, but for Cozy Glow, maybe even more so for Cozy Glow. And, at the end, we got a very basic villain without interesting motivations or any character development.

Haven’t read the thread. Just offering my take on things based on what I’ve seen. I think the main reason Cozy gets hated on is that she’s an annoyingly cloy character who represents qualities we human beings consider the worst. Scheming, duplicitous and immature and all wrapped up in an annoyingly cutesy, childish package. She has a superiority complex to boot. She’s that two-faced cousin who tells you to go ahead and eat that piece of pie without telling you your mom was saving it for when she gets home from a hard days work. She’s that boss who promises you you’re in line for a raise then gives it to someone else.
 
She’s basically the worst kind of baddie there is-the one who pretends to be your friend only to turn around and stab you in the back. I think we’ve all known someone like that in our lives.
 
Now as far as why some people like her it’s because it’s very easy to look past her obvious bad nature and only focus on her appealing aspects. Humans generally try to see the best in people-it’s part of how we manage to function as a society. There are also people who find bad characters fun. The people who think she’s good somewhere deep down inside, though just don’t understand how sociopath’s work.
 
At the end of the day Cozy is a narcissistic sociopath with a superiority complex and most anyone with any amount of smarts is going to find that kind of person abhorrent.
