Gerald was now at the bottom of the valley, walking along the same path the Mane Six did
 
Gerald: “I wouldn’t be surprised if the Manticore’s still in this area. Better keep my voice down and get through this quietly”
 
???: “Or be loud as possible and get the creatures attention? Make it interesting for us…”
 
Gerald: Murmurs as he sneaks his way up “I’m not letting you goad me into things”
 
???: “Like the time I goaded you into my little science experiment?”
 
Gerald: Stops in his tracks for a second before continuing “That wasn’t goading, you manipulated me for months…”
 
???: “Well, I couldn’t exactly do this experiment with someone off the street. I needed you to trust me for it to work”
 
Gerald: “Well it worked, didn’t it…now we’re stuck like this”
 
???: “Well, the plan was for me to take over your mind entirely, not just being this ghostly voice in your head”
 
Gerald: “Even unintended, you’re still managing to piss me the fuck off. So why don’t you fucking shut it and let me get on with-”
 
Gerald, in his anger, accidentally steps on a twig. Seconds later, he hears the sounds of a local Manticore
 
Gerald: “Oh…shit” Hides in the undergrowth

Night Hunter (Boss): “TEAM, LETS MOVE!”
 
Thunder Force (Scorch), Rapid Haste (Fixer) and Fang Hunter (Sev): “Yes sir!”
 
They picked up the pace and moved further through the forest

Me: “Well this doesn’t bode well” I said as I gallop off after the Deltas
 
Blossom: “Come on Girls, we’ve gotta help out!” She tries to fly…only to head straight into a tree “Ugh, this is gonna take some time to get used to…” She pops her head out of the tree “Come on, lets move!” She decides to use her hooves for now and gallop off after the group
 
Bubbles and Buttercup: They gallop after her
 
Utonium: “Hey, wait for me!” He gallops off after all of them

whistler had gone lower, and prepared one of his cryo canisters, so long as no one touched the manticore before it thawed out it was the safest way for everyone involved.

At this moment, from the forest sprung a stallion, landing near the manticore. The pony was tall, though also on the lanky side. He wore purple and gray metal armor and had a purple face with gray eyes. However, his face seemed just slightly uncanny, as if made from inorganic materials. His tail was a metal green vine, and more of these vines were wrapped around each of his legs. Upon his head sat a peculiar helmet, gold with three large flower petals, red spotted with yellow.
 
In a blue flash, a swarm of similarly colored petals surrounded him.
 
His designation number was DAN-001.
 
Plant Man stared at the manticore, not one iota of fear crossing his artificial face.

Gerald watched as this strange metal pony, covered with nature around itself, confronted the Manticore
 
Gerald: “Ok, this guy’s either gonna beat the creature up or he’s gonna talk it down like Fluttershy” Looks to the valleys exit “Either way, now’s my chance to get away”
 
Gerald sneaks his way through the bushes
 

 
Delta Squad had arrived up on the cliff area, where Gerald and the Mane Six used to be
 
Night Hunter (Boss): “Got a visual on the valley below”
 
Fang Hunter (Sev): “Sir, I see a creature down there. Must be the ‘Manticore’ that Whistler mentioned…but what is that other entity next to it?”
 
Thunder Force (Scorch): “Possibly a pony disguised as a plant?”
 
Rapid Haste (Fixer): “Gerald must be somewhere in this area, hiding from this ‘Manticore’ creature in the process”
 
Night Hunter (Boss): “Right, come on Deltas. We’ve got a mission to fulfill”
 
The Deltas carefully tread across the thin cliffside

Me: I soon arrive at the cliff area “Well, some clear sights at least” I looked down to the valley “Hopefully, Gerald’s hidden himself somewhere from the Manticore…and a weird plant creature?” I looked to where the Deltas were treading carefully across the thin cliffside “Oh jeez, this is not going to be fun…” I then hear Blossom and the girls gallop up behind me
 
Blossom, Bubbles & Buttercup: “Woah…”
 
Me: “I know, it’s a wondrous sight…too bad it had to be filled with danger” I looked back down to the valley to see the Manticore approaching the weird plant creature “What the heck’s gotten that thing interested in the plant entity, all of a sudden?”

Whistler kept back as he hovered, not keen on interrupting the standoff.

Plant Man stared down the Manticore, the flower petals continuing to swirl around him.
 
“Yield.” He said simply, yet with authority. Some of the petals graced against the ground, leaving small gashes. He made a note of the pony running away, but the larger threat had his focus at the moment.

Gerald, not realizing the plant entity had an eye on him, kept on moving to the valley exit. He soon came across another part of the forest that was noticeably darker than the rest
 
Gerald: “As if the Manticore and weird plant creature wasn’t enough, now it feels like I’m about to enter Mirkwood with the little amount of light” He looks back “Still, it’s the only to keep everyone else safe”
 
Gerald started moving through the dark area of the forest
 

 
Delta Squad, after careful treading, made their way past the thin cliffside
 
Night Hunter (Boss): Notices what the plant entity is doing “Sev, can you get a closer look?”
 
Fang Hunter (Sev): “On it” He pulls out his sniper rifle to look down the scope “Sir, it seems the entity is…attempting to intimidate the Manticore”
 
Night Hunter (Boss): “Intimidate?”
 
Fang Hunter (Sev): “Yes sir. It seems to be controlling some sort of field around itself and is using it to cut the ground with…flower petals?”
 
Thunder Force (Scorch): “Petals?” Scoffs “Talk about one aggressive gardener…”
 
Rapid Haste (Fixer): “If this creature is keeping the Manticore at bay, Gerald must be using this as a diversion to move on to the exit of the valley. We gotta keep the move on them, sir”
 
Thunder Force (Scorch): “Wait, now hold up, Fixer. Whats to say this weird plant pony is a friendly or not?”
 
Night Hunter (Boss): “Nothing…stay frosty, Deltas. This could get ugly”
 
They tread lightly as they made their way down into the valley

Me: “It’s hard to see what that plant creature is using to make that Manticore back down…?”
 
Blossom: “Nothing a little super-vision can’t handle”
 
Me: I noticed the cornea part of her eyes turned neon green as she used her powers “What can you see?”
 
Blossom: “Looks like the creature’s using some sort of generated field around itself to control flower petals”
 
Buttercup: “Flower petals?” Scoff “Talk about a lame power!”
 
Bubbles: “I don’t know, Buttercup. You can make the prettiest of flower patterns with it”
 
Me: I rolled my eyes while smiling. Bubbles can be such an innocent yet naive person
 
Blossom: “And cut the ground with extreme force”
 
Bubbles, Buttercup and Me: “WHAT?!”
 
Me: “That’s incredible, being able to take something as minor as a flower petal and weaponizing it!” I looked over the other side of the collapsed cliff path, where the Deltas had just finished examining the creature themselves before they started moving down into the valley
 
Me: “I hope what or whoever this plant creature can be is a friendly…” I then made my way over to the collapsed path and started treading carefully

Whistler: “gerald?… where’d he… oh for the love of, he didn’t actually enter the deepwoods part of the effing everfree did he?!”
 
he hovers down.
 
“as if dealing with manny on a bad day wasn’t enough…”

The Manticore let off a roar, and attempted to swipe its paw at Plant Man. The paw came down, but the instant it hit the flurry of petals, the paw bounced right off as the Manticore cried out in pain. Small droplets of blood appeared on its paw. After a moment of looking between the strange plant creature and his injured paw, it whimpered and then ran off.
 
Plant Man sighed, and dissipated his Plant Barrier with another blue flash. He then looked in the direction of that pony that had run away. This is a strange world…

As they travelled down into the valley, they witnessed the plant entity drive the Manticore off
 
Night Hunter (Boss): “Hold up here” They stopped “Seems our visitor has finished their task”
 
Thunder Force (Scorch): “To drive off a creature like that with weaponized petals? That’s just…weird”
 
Fang Hunter (Sev): “You don’t find our whole affair in this strange land weird enough, Scorch?”
 
Thunder Force (Scorch): “Well, that’s true, I’ll give ya that…”
 
Rapid Haste (Fixer): Notices the plant entity turning around “Sir, we don’t know what other abilities this creature might have. For all we know, it could’ve picked up on Gerald’s tracks while fighting the Manticore”
 
Night Hunter (Boss): “Possibly…we’ll find out soon enough”
 
He makes a motion and the squad, once again, starts moving cautiously

Me: As I was crossing the path, my mind was filled with alot of questions “What is Gerald going through all this for? To keep away from us? Why? We’re trying to help him and he just reacts by pushing me over and running off to some dark forbidden forest filled with all sorts of dangerous skitprat!?” (bullshit) As my mind was filled with all these questions, along with mixed emotions, I made a miscalculation in my steps and start sliding down the cliff
 
Me: As I slid down, I tried to grip onto anything but all it did was burn my hoof from the rough rock. I was soon about to go over “Oh morsan från gud!” (Oh mother of god)
 
Blossom: Gasp “COME ON, GIRLS!”
 
Me: As I was sliding down, I closed my eyes and mentally prayed for something to save me as I didn’t wish to die in this strange yet fantastical land. I soon felt my body go over the cliff and was now free-falling. Just as I thought my life was about to come to an end, my body felt a sudden stop which forced open my eyes “Huh?” I noticed that I was mere inches away from going head first into the ground “But…but how-”
 
Blossom: “It’s okay. I’ve got you!”
 
Me: As I looked back to see Blossom, I was filled with all sorts of emotions at that point. Not only was my life saved, I was rescued from certain doom by a character from a TV show I grew up with “I…I am amazed. Thank you…um” She leveled me out so I landed on all four of my hooves
 
Blossom: “Not a problem, good sir. I’m Blossom and it’s the duty of the Powerpuff Girls to do what’s right!”
 
Me: I smiled and started tearing up a bit “Thank you, Blossom” I then noticed she’s the only one standing in front of me “Wait, where’s the others?”
 
Blossom: “Buttercup!? Bubbles!?”
 
Buttercup & Bubbles: “Uuuuuugh”
 
Me: I looked to see both of them had crashed into either a tree or the ground. Fortunately for them, they were still durable enough to survive things like this “Guess they’re still getting used to their new bodies…”
 
Blossom: “Oh, they’ll be fine”
 
Utonium: “GIRLS! WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED!?”
 
Me: I looked back up to see the Professor had caught up with us, looking down from the top of the cliff
 
Blossom: “Our pony friend here had trouble with the cliff and was about to fall off! Hold on, I’ll get you down here as well!”
 
Me: **I then watched as Blossom flew up with a sound effect behind her ** “Damn…that’s just cool to see in person” She then flew back down with the Professor in hooves, letting him go as soon as the ground was just inches away “Heh, sorry about the trouble, Professor. Had difficulties crossing that collapsed path back up there”
 
Utonium: “Well, it’s good to see that you’re okay. Also, it’s good to see that my sweet little angels can still perform all sorts of feats even when turned into a pony”
 
Buttercup: “Ugh, for the most part…”
 
Bubbles: “Ow…”
 
Me: I watched as Bubbles and Buttercup soon made their way over to us “Well we gotta keep moving, Gerald still needs our help…although with that plant entity in the way, I don’t know if this’ll be a breeze or a tough pickle”
 
Buttercup: “If they do trouble us, they’ll get a knuckle sandwich!” Makes several motions with her hooves
 
Me: “Well, if you say so” I turn around and make a move forward into the valley “Come on, lets stick together”
 
PPGs and Utonium: “Right!”

Having looked the plantman over, whistler decides enough was enough.
 
Whistler: “much as i appreciate you scaring manni off, we need to get gerald out before he wakes up the hydra, or gets a heaping helping of trauma from steven magnet, that serpent is not for the faint of heart.”

“The name Gerald…” Plant Man said. “I am not familiar, but I must assume you are chasing the one that has fled. This forest, it is strange, the plant life and animals bizarre… But it is insignificant compared to the amazon. These plants speak a strange language, but I have been here long enough to learn. His trail glows among the grass and trees, his scent is caught by the fungi below. I can lead you to him, but first I must ask… For what purpose l do you seek him? Is your cause just, or do you harbor ill will?”
 
Plant Man stood tall, taking a moment to look across the treetops. This world, with its equines, and unusual forces he could not explain…
 
He knew he did not belong, but his programming was clear: Any forest was his domain.

Whistler:“we had an argument and he stormed off, were it any other forest I’d leave it be but this one is dangerous.”

The Deltas heard Matias’ yelp and turned to see that he was sliding down the cliffside
 
Night Hunter (Boss): “HOLD ON!”
 
They tried to gallop back up the hill but they were too far to get to him in time. They saw him go over the cliffside
 
Thunder Force (Scorch): “NO!”
 
Just as it looked as it was all a forgone conclusion, they watched as the three ponies on the other side of the cliff suddenly zipped into action. Two of them crashed into the environment around them but the red pony was able to catch up with Matias in time and stopped his fall
 
Thunder Force (Scorch): “Woah…”
 
Rapid Haste (Fixer): “It’s amazing, that’s for sure”
 
Fang Hunter (Sev): “Well, I’ll be…”
 
Night Hunter (Boss): “Wherever they were originally from, they must be some unique individuals…”
 
They watched as the Professor soon galloped over to see what was happening. He was quickly met by the red pony and taken down to see the others
 
Night Hunter (Boss): “I think they’ll be fine, Deltas. We can rendezvous with them further up the valley”

The Deltas made their way back down into the valley and noticed Whistler speaking with the plant entity
 
Night Hunter (Boss): Deduces the situation “Lets approach without our weapons equipped. We don’t want to appear hostile”
 
They nodded and approached the plant entity
 
Night Hunter (Boss): “Do not be alarmed! We are with that pony you are speaking to. We’re assisting in this mission to recover an individual”

Me: I, along with the rest of the group, walked up the valley to meet up with Whistler and the Deltas. I noticed that they were speaking with the plant entity “Remember, unless things go south, lets not get into a fight”
 
Blossom: “No arguments from us…right Buttercup?”
 
Me: I see Buttercup roll her eyes in annoyance “Okay then” I then made the walk up to the group “Please do not be scared or defensive. We wish no harm to you and simply want to find my friend, Gerald, before he gets himself killed out here in this strange forest.

Plant Man listened to them. A breeze seemed to gently rustle the large flower petals on his helmet, and his metal vine tail curled up slightly before relaxing.
 
“Then I shall lead you. A proper introduction can wait until the situation is resolved.” Plant Man said, bowing with a small flourish before turning towards where he saw the pony leave. The blades of grass bent from hoofprints, the branches broken off as he ran past, the bushes and vines disturbed by his presence, all this left a path Plant could see as clear as day. He moved quickly. “This part of the forest is more dangerous! We must move quickly before it is too late!” He called out.
