A way to differentiate cropped unedited and cropped edited screencaps?

Background Pony #5D79
Both cropped unedited (example) and cropped edited (example) screencaps are tagged with “edit” and “edited screencap”. Is there a way to differentiate between the two?

Crops of fan art are considered edit, and should be tagged as such, because they are derivative. So much so that those are often Rule #1 where a simple non-crop edit may not be. Mainly I think it’s because crops often remove the original artists signature, or are done to remove characters or to create fetishized edits of otherwise safe images.

As you mentioned, screen caps are a horse of a different color.
