Alias "villian" to "antagonist"

I’m 99% certain villian is just a misspelled variant of “villain” which is an alias of antagonist.

If it’s misspelled, shouldn’t it be simply replaced with “villain”?

If it’s a common misspelling, and the other spelling isn’t a real word for anything, it can be useful to set up an alias because then it automatically fixes it if it happens in the future. Also, because the correct spelling is already aliased to another tag, the misspelling should also be aliased to the same end result.

Why are villain and antagonist aliased together anyway?

Wiktionary says it’s a common misspelling of villain. It also says it’s a synonym of vaudevillian, but I don’t think we have to worry about that because “vaudeville” has been used only 9 times.

Don’t know. I hadn’t noticed it either until I was making the thread opener.

Aliased villian. I don’t think I created the villain/antagonist alias, but having them aliased seems ok to me. Villainess is also a tag since people want their female-specific tags, so I had that imply antagonist and mass updated them.
