Anecdotally it feels like there was a reduction in the tagging of ‘solo’ content and related tags (ex. ‘solo female’) around April this year. I’ve been doing my part to tag new posts appropriately as I see them, but I can’t help feeling this process should be automated.
Have there been any projects in the past, or are currently underway, to automatically tag posts? It strikes me that Derpibooru has one of the most finely catalogged galleries I’ve ever seen and would make an exceptional training set for a computer vision project. I’ve skimmed the API and believe it’s possible to download both tags and source image files, making me wonder: this seems like a pretty straight forward task, has anyone else already tried this? Automated tagging seems like a decent side project to undertake, but I’d like to know what hurdles others may have had and what progress they may already have made that could be built upon before committing to something like this.
