I think you probably need to calm down about this thing you have. There’s a time and a place for discussing one’s opinions of other people’s headcanons, but the main tagging forum is absolutely not it.
 
If you could avoid stirring up discussions that have been dead and buried for years, that would also be helpful.

Two NSFW questions.  
Q1. Should fingering (3800) be used for solo images or not?
 
These solo images are tagged sex, because fingering implies sex. To my understanding sex is used when more than one person is involved (though tentacles and some other phenomena count as person for this), and masturbation should be used for solo images.
 
Currently, there are about 71 fingering/sex/solo images and 900 fingering/solo images. For comparison, there are also about 1200 masturbation/sex/solo images and 4000 sex/solo/-tentacles images, probably mostly because of mistagging.
 
Q2. Should tentacle porn get solo tags if there is only one character with the tentacles?  
I feel like this was once stated on the tag description, but several tag descriptions have been changed within the past two years or so.

Both fingering and hoofing apply to masturbation too; restricting them against it would make it harder to find things.  
As for tentacles, depends on sentience; if the tentacles are basically an animal (can feel/think) instead of a plant then it’s not solo.

I have also no idea how to tell whether a tentacle is sentient or not.  
So I’ll blame Badumsquish and leave it to someone else. (And of course that image is solo.)

I’d have guessed the scope of “emoji gag” so, so wrong.

Since absurd resolution is defined to be redundant with a search for “width.gte:4000, height.gte:4000” and likewise high res is “width.gte:2000, height.gte:2000”, could those tags either get nuked (probably not for legacy filter purposes?) or otherwise conduct a mass-tagging? (>340000 images lack the high res tag and >12500 images lack absurd resolution)
 
For that matter, does the site support autotagging in any capacity? I’m thinking of the aforementioned tags, wall of tags, palindrome get and the other “gets” and “milestone” tags…

Well, a character could also be doing it in a picture with multiple characters present, which would not be tagged solo.
 
I’ve also seen a good number of images mis-tagged with masturbation as if the word meant “digital stimulation” of one character by another. Grr.||

If I had to do a search with a “.gte” component I wouldn’t remember how to do it and would have to ask in here anyway, and I’m fairly certain most users don’t even know that such functionality exists in the first place.

Not exactly. High res is for 4 Mpx or higher, but less than 16 Mpx.  
Absurd resolution is for 16 Mpx or higher.  
So, for example, 8000x2000 would already be absurd resolution.

I think their point is is that the res tags can be made redundant due to the width and height search functions.
 
Not that they should be, though. Users probably don’t know about those search terms and tags are easier to use. As with @Dogman15 I also like the tags.
