*If possible. Characters with the exact same name introduced in the same Generation don’t really have a choice:

maririwis tag from >>3074417. I’m guessing it’s supposed to be an artist tag, but it’s not correctly formatted.If you click the tag, you’ll see it contains plus signs that aren’t visible on the UI, only in the URL. Maybe that’s the reason why it cannot be deleted?

The reason the plus signs aren’t visible in the UI is because they are used in place of spaces for URLs. Which means this tag has two extra spaces at the end that somehow weren’t automatically deleted when the tag was created.

I imagine the reason the editor can’t remove the tag is because it reads the tag, but can’t read those two extra spaces. And it can’t add a version without spaces either because it can’t add a tag that already “exists” on the list.

I just tested it. Both the fancy tag editor and the traditional editor remove spaces from tags, so I’m a bit puzzled as of how that ill-formed tag got created.
