[NSFW] Threesome tags

So I saw all these tags:  
mmf threesome  
ffm threesome  
mff threesome  
fmm threesome  
And I’m not exactly sure what purpose they serve, as they don’t even indicate sexuality(s) that appears in the image. But I’m not like, super versed in what people wanna see in group sex, so I don’t actually know if these as a concept are super useful or anything. I would assume that the amount of males or female in a threesome would matter little to someone compared to the sexualities that happen, but it’s not my place to guess.
 
Thoughts? I didn’t look for like, foursomes or anything.

They seem useful to me, since there’s no other way to specify if the threesome involves multiple males or females.  
Example: I would prefer seeing threesomes involving multiple females instead of multiple males. But there’s no way to specify that.
 
And sexualities can be specified with additional search terms like they have to be when you search for threesome or group sex by itself.
 
I also think that mmf/fmm and mff/ffm can be aliased together respectively.

Just seems like a lot of extra tagging work for what would only help a few people out. Should also have mmm and fff versions too if they DO get standardized.
 
But I don’t personally see a point to them myself.

There is no need to, one can search “gay, threesome” or “lesbian, threesome”.
 
EDIT: Actually, it would have to be “gay, threesome, -bisexual” or “lesbian, threesome, -bisexual” so maybe that would be useful after all.

I don’t know if you want to discuss this part but the positioning in the letters matters. It indicates “who’s in the middle”.
 
So for example MMF is NOT the same thing as MFM. MMF means a guy is sandwiched between another guy and the female, while MFM means both dudes do her etc.  
That would possibly also cover any questions of sexual preferences or so.

Though that isn’t how the tags were being used. And I feel getting into that much detail separating them out might be a bit much. Especially since, as I said, people weren’t using them in that manner.

The fact that people still mess up the simple X on Y tags we presently have makes it even less likely for people to get the order right in threesome tags.

Who is in the middle in a cyclical daisy chain? The endpoints aren’t easily definable and would require a convention.
 
I think these tags are a little too niche and complicated in what they do. I’ve seen things like f/mmm and f/fffff before (vore on Eka’s Portal) and it just isn’t that useful as a thing to search cause nobody truly cares about the precise number; what they want is the gender pairs (and directionally, but deciding who is “on top” is messy and not always doable, so it’s good Derpibooru has it separated out tag-wise).
