Artist needs to sign up (usually) to get a link for the artist tag. There’s “unverified” exemptions for non-users when aliasing because the links are interconnected in some way to be able to line up the tag aliases. They’re more or less there when provided as “proof” when they being aliased. (At least, that’s my understanding.)
