Fallout Equestria Thread (NSFW)

…I’m still slightly thrown out by the fact that Velvet’s in her thirties, after all this time.
 
She acts like a teenager sometimes.

Started writing Fallout Equestria: Subterranean Pacifism. It’s where a lost raider filly and a lost foreigner colt fall in love despite the impossibility of it all.

I’ve decided to give Sassy Lost (Main character of Subterranean Pacifism) gigantism. I dunno why, I guess it makes her more interesting? As far as age goes she and Perfect Freeze (the other main character) are like high school senior age. The current text starts on Sassy’s 18th, and I’m thinking of making her the younger of the two. Also, Perfect is from a stable in the valley from The Hooffields and McColts. Smokey Mountains, right?

In my story Fluttershy (72) is friends with a 15 year old colt.
 
He’s often more mature than her, and the relationship is oddly equal considering their ages.

Extract from Chapter 1, and a description of Sassy Lost:  
Perfect Freeze stared at the enormous mare he’d just fished up. Size aside, she appeared to be around his age, about coming of age. She was a pegasus, sporting a steel pink coat with a vanilla and eerie black mane and tail both in a particularly pointy style with spiky bangs. Not the sort of body palette a raider would want, to be honest.  
Her navel was decorated with what appeared to be repurposed rebar piercing its rim, with a lanyard-like string supporting an ammo belt attached to one piece and slung around her side.  
Walking around her, she had plenty of scars. Yep, definitely a raider.  
Reaching her face, he saw she had heterochromia, her left eye being a cardinal red and her right eye a shade of purpura.  
The mare stretched her wings. Perfect jumped back, they were huge even by her lofty standards.  
As she leaned in preparation to get back up, he saw her cutie mark was a skull. No surprise there.

Any reason why Fluttershy isn’t mature? I know I said age doesn’t matter too much but I’m kinda curious on how a 72 year-old isn’t as mature as a 15 year-old colt.

Nice description, though personally I wouldn’t want to info dump the description in the story. What you wrote describes her well though.

I’ll have to see how I can make things a bit less tedious then. That’s the start of Chapter 1, plus there’s a prologue. Perfect saves Sassy with his telekinesis, so I could cut some of the description back there

Well she has never stopped looking at the world very emotionally, where he’s the sort who was a cynical, logically minded old man from the age of five. They kind of support one another, she can remind him to be a little more hopeful and trusting when he starts to get a little too much of a moody teenager. He on the other hand often urges her to be a little more cautious when her urge to meddle and be a hero starts to override her good sense, reminding her that she’s a little more fragile than she used to be, and she has a history of… well, charging into unstable situations without fully thinking it through, and being naive about the less savory aspects of ponies and zebra.
 
She’s still convinced for a fair amount of the story that an actively evil bad guy was behind the megaspells destroying the world, and that without that they could have stopped the war as she intended.

Yeah, that’s why I’m thinking splitting the basic description into the prologue when he first sees her on the cliff.

Long after. My story takes place seventeen years after FoE, so Fluttershy has been free from the tree for more than a decade.
 
She’s not as contrite as some expected. In fact she kinda believes that she and her friends did nothing wrong, and it was everypony else who forced bad choices upon them.

I mean personally, I still feel that she is contrite. It was partially her fault that the world ended. I kinda feel that she would reflect upon her mistakes and be sure nothing like that ever happened again.

Well that’s the sensible opinion, which is kinda why I steered away from it. I kinda wanted for the audience to be unsure of her morality and good sense, and a lot of her later story (where she dives right into kingmaking and outright manipulation) is driven by uncertainty on whether she’s making the same mistakes all over again, or if she actually has a point. Velvet Remedy actually straight out states her belief that she thinks Fluttershy is quite capable of becoming a terrorist and a revolutionary, should she believe in her cause strongly enough.
 
…oddly enough, she’s really similar to Fluttershy in “A Health of Information”. I started writing the story in season 2. (Though I was mostly inspired by “Putting Your Hoof Down”)

Ahh, so you’re (at least the way I see it) kinda going for the Fluttershy who is dangerous to present-day (your present-day in the story) society because of the war that she went through and her willinging to make sure that she gets what she wants?

One event from the backstory of my fic sums up a lot. The hellhounds have been doing quite well in the NCR, but they still suffer from a lot of restrictions due to ponies… well, being terrified of them. Where they can live, where they can travel…
 
Fluttershy found this incredibly offensive, and wanted to lobby for equal treatment. She asked Velvet Remedy (at this point the most powerful person in the entire country) for help. Velvet… said no. She was working on changing public opinion through the media and good works, but at this point forcing the issue against the will of the people would only make matters worse.
 
Fluttershy thought this was an excuse, that by accepting the current rules despite her power, Velvet was suggesting discrimination was morally acceptable. She then tried to change the law herself, lobbied in the courts… and lost.
 
Fluttershy and Velvet Remedy are now no longer talking to one another, and many characters throughout the story debate exactly who was in the right.
 
For the record, the hellhounds themselves respect both of them.

I would react that Fluttershy is in the wrong here. However, did you intend on having the reader question on who was in the right?

That’s the idea. Honestly I don’t know entirely who’s in the right, I just let the characters do what’s natural, and let myself and my readers make their own decisions.
 
I’m normally pretty leery of ‘Writer on Board’. If someone interprets my writing in a completely different way from me, that’s great! I like ambiguity, and character driven stuff.

So I was watching a LP of that Fo:E sidescroller and I thought “Imagine if you could play as other characters…” and someone mentioned Blackjack, but here’s what I think:
 
Blackjack would be Littlepip but her skillset would have lower magic and levitation skill caps, and she would also be unable to self levitate, but as a tradeoff she can teleport and dual wield instead.  
Hired Gun would be based on physical strength. She’d also be 3 squares tall instead of 2 but can still fit through regular corridors with a slight speed penalty. Also, no magic.  
Puppysmiles would be half the dimensions of Littlepip (1x1 instead of 2x2), immune to environmental hazards and have innate health regeneration and no body parts to damage. As a tradeoff, she has less health, needs much more experience to level up and has a lower level/skill cap, assuming she can even level up at all, as mentioned in Chapter 1. Also, no magic.  
Don’t know what Murky would be. No magic, but he can fly.  
Same with Atom Smasher. I have no idea what she’s good at.  
Sassy Lost (My OC mentioned earlier) would be 4 squares tall (2 while crouching) and 4 squares wide (5 while crouching), can’t wear armor due to her size, would have less health, can’t hide, and would be susceptible to fall damage. As a tradeoff, being a raider, she deals double damage. Hard mode, basically. Also, no magic.

Remember, Puppysmiles is a beast in close combat. In fact she’s massively OP physically in general, the only issue is that she has no combat experience, no training, and no knowledge of what’s even going on most of the time.
 
She’s pretty much immune to physical damage, radiation and pink gas, can gib raiders and destroy sentry robots with her bare hooves, and combining a close combat style with the ability to leak pink gas when struck means she’s the worst nightmare of anyone not in full CBRN clothing.
 
On the other hand she has no skills, no real ability to learn skills, and she’s very weak against magical energy weapons. I’d make her a novelty mode, like a fallout 2 build with Int 1 and the other skills maxed.
 
I’ve introduced several adult versions of what Puppysmiles is, with full combat training. As expected they’re pretty much unbeatable.

My own main character is absurdly boring in terms of skills, but that’s how he likes it. He’s an earth pony, his name’s Dust Kicker (he was named by a pegasi), he wields a shotgun and a sniper rife for equal ability and close and short range. He’s 42 so a lot slower than he used to be, but he makes up for it with a good aim, an ability to take a hit, and loads of experience.
 
He tends to get his ass kicked going one on one against alicorns and the like, but he’s absolutely invaluable in mass combat.

Puppy’s size being 1x1 would make the mode even more interesting, as well. Also, adult versions? Where can I see them?
 
And yes, Sassy Lost is 4x4 (Littlepip in the game is 2x2, for reference)

I based them on the Chinese Stealth Armor from Fallout 3. They were a group of zebra operatives who willingly underwent the same procedure that Puppysmiles did accidentally. Very few of them are left now (like Puppysmiles, most of them eventually gave up living over the centuries and fell apart), but three pop up.
 
One has gone full abomination and doesn’t even need the suit anymore. At one point he willingly breaks himself open inside an enemy airship, and floods the entire place with his pink gas body. He’s not even that phased by energy weapons anymore (as he can just diffuse himself to avoid most of the damage).
