Well, i’m gonna embrace both, Considering the fact that both G4 and G5 are in the same universe.  
Fans (like me) can love both, no matter what happens in G5, good or bad, Just like people who love G1 and G3.
 
Who knows, maybe my AU (Ponies of all generations, Ponyland part of Equus) may come to life someday.

There is a lot of things that pegasus do, since they maintain the weather, both in Equus and in Earth.
 
The pegasus can also do other things aside from weather, such as competing, cleaning and sports.
