“Sorry, Spike… Libraries aren’t typically for loudness… I really had no intention to wake you… I suppose I was just lost in my thoughts…” Spike rubs her back. “It’s okay, Twilight… just… tell me what’s wrong.” thrumming to herself, Twilight Sparkle levitated the numerous books onto their shelves, before going to the setting of a specific tome on the back of the shelf: the reference guide to the Elements of Harmony. She levitates it over to her dragon friend. She sighs, “It’s…ugh..! It’s just those mysterious Elements. Where did they originate from? I now know that Celestia and Luna didn’t create them…and what the pillars did…but… What was it that had caused the Elements to change hooves? And why? Why?” She puts a hoof to her head. Spike rubs her back.
“Was there some sort of process within, a magical process that conjured just the right circumstances for the Elements’ aspects to show in the pony they were connected to? And if so, why did they break? Celestia had used them all to banish Nightmare Moon into the moon, so was there some aspects that one pony could have and others not?” Spike is trying to figure something out to ease her mind, causing him to grow silent, worrying Twilight further.
“Questions left and right with chasms where the solutions should be…Areas with confidentialities so lost in unnecessary vices… I have to try-No… do my best to find those answers. No matter what the cost is. It would be best for reproductive eras… If the others died without the elements’ roots being founded, then how would it be known who to go to after they were gone? If friendship, the ponies’ survival mechanism that could be turned into a physical form, was gone forever? The Elements conserved that… And it was certain that the Elements didn’t change hooves when the previous holder died - Celestia and Luna were still around, after all. It had to be some sort of trait, not a metaphysical quality that moved into to a pony after death. Celestia had been able to use all six, after all…” Spike hugged her friend tightly. “I don’t have the answers for now, but I can tell you one piece of advice… the worry of this is unnecessary. You shouldn’t worry yourself. Everything will be okay. All will fall into place. Trust me…” Twilight is speechless but can’t let this stand. “But… I have to… I have to preserve the essence of the Elements; preserve the… my friends… the essence of the elements..! Yes… Yes… But how? How?” After thinking, Twilight came up with an idea. “I got it! Spike, It’s early so go get some rest, besides, you’ll need it for what I have planned for you.” She boops the little dragon gleefully. Rubbing his nose, spike replies, “Oh…okay…” Spike jogs up the stairs and Twilight turns, sweating nervously and rubbing her wings together nervously, faic with a nervous chuckle.

Celestia’s warm sun rises up over the hill, causing warmth to invade the town and evade the chill of the night. Ponies froliced and played, while others just breathed in the fresh air and enjoyed the warm summer rays on their fur. Spike snores happily in his bed. He slowly wakes up, a smile, signaling he had a wondrous sleep. He stretches and yawns, then proceeds to scratch his back, smacking his lips. He slips out of bed and proceeds to walk out of his room. He then makes a turn to Twilight’s bedroom. “Twilight~ You asleep?” He calls, peeking his head through her doorway. He becomes worried to see that she wasn’t there. “Did she… Did she not sleep..?” He turns. “Twilight..?” He calls once more. He walks to the top of the stairwell and calls once more. He then walks down thw stairs to meet a unnerving sight: The castle was a mess of lists, graphs, books, you name it… and Twilight was sitting in the dark corner of the kitchen, cradled, rocking back and forth, her mane a bit frazzled, bags under her eyes. “Oh no! Twilight..!” Twilight perked up slightly and turned to Spike, lidded eyes with shrunken pupils and a slight smiled creeped onto her lips. “Oh, Spikey Wikey You’re finally awake… C’mere, my sweet dragon friend~”
She eerily cooed, signaling Spike to come to her. Spike cautiously walks up to her. “Twilight…? Are you okay…? You don’t look so good… Did you not get any sleep? Did you sleep at all last night..?” Twilight disgruntledly chuckles. “We have better things to worry about, Spike. I’m planning a party.” Spike smiles, flapping his wings, his eyes shimmering with excitement. “That sounds awesome! Great idea Twilight! I can’t wait to relax and show my cool new dance moves!” Spike starts doing poor attempts at popular dance moves. Twilight, a blank expression, replies, “There’s going to be something there that concerns only the six of us. I mean just me and my friends, excluding you. So. Yeah. That means you won’t be there… Sorry, you’re not invited.” Spike then grows sad, his scales flopping to the side of his head. “It’s nothing against you. This isn’t just a typical party, but something similar to a meeting. About my research and about my plans. It only regards us.” Spike watches Twilight twitch and worries for her. After gaining no feedback, she continues. “However, you can send these invitations to them.” She levitated stacks of cards to spike’s claws, which he barely gathered. “Did you… make all these instead of sleeping?” “Go! Go! Go! Shoo!” Twilight magically scooted Spike to the door. He sighed, “Okay…” He got up, dusting himself off. He opened the door and proceeded to exit, leaving twilight to giggle menacingly to herself.
