@Salamenace
He’s saying how the toy sales where the reason, and as I said a number of places only got them at the time the plug was pulled, so Greg is not telling the full truth if there wasn’t time for them to sell well to begin with and he says that was a factor.
Sounds more like something on the lines of the boldfaced lie that was given by that one Capcom representative about way Megaman Legends 3 was canned, you give a reason that doesn’t add up very well.
From what I gathered, Young Justice toys
were around when the show was still airing but their wave of toys ended in April 2012. They weren’t very good and expensive, so because of a lack of interest they were discontinued. Another thing, CN didn’t cancel the show themselves. They didn’t make it, all they did was air it (same thing with Green Lantern). Warner Bros. made the show, and because there was no money to keep it going the show ended. That’s the biggest reason to its cancellation. It’s just economics.
@Jarkes
Considering that Sym-bionic Titan was supposedly canceled because CN simply didn’t think a toyline for it would sell despite not even MAKING a toyline for it… I wouldn’t put it past CN to have canceled Young Justice for a similarly flimsy reason back then.
Maybe companies like Mattel or Bandai weren’t interested, or maybe Cartoon Network didn’t make an interesting enough pitch. Other sources mentioned contract disputes with Genndy, which might’ve led to his fallout with the network, that could also have been a factor to the show’s cancellation.
