My version is desperately needing to change my diaper, but the only bathrooms or otherwise private rooms I can find are open and exposed so everyone can see me change there.
 
Either that, or a few times, a friend walk in and I just barely cover it up in time by putting a towel on my lap or something but they need me to get up and go somewhere and when I refuse start to ask what I’m hiding.
 

 
Alternatively, no diaper, but bathrooms are all also exposed in the open (glass walls, huge bathroom without any dividers, or no walls at all), very tall so it’s hard to climb onto them, and often on the verge of overflowing and full and clogged.
 
If those end well, sometimes it’s because I find a diaper or suddenly have one on. That can turn it into a wet dream just by wearing it in the dream.
 

 
Did have a dream, once, though, that I was in a giant tree, found a secret basement, and in a drawer in the back was a secret diaper stash. I start poking through it, then realize I have company - I turn around and it’s Twilight Sparkle. Not just before sleep, but if you go like a week or so without doing it you’ll start to on rare occasion. It’s very vague and statistical/probabilistic, but in general it’s like a week I think?
 
Your body produces stuff and needs to get rid of it, if you don’t, then it will through wet dreams.
 
So basically if you feel like it really badly but don’t, then it’s a lot more likely.

And, well, the fact that apparently this experience is more relatable to girls than I thought, and thus being a girl is suddenly more relatable than I thought.
 
I used to hate the heck out of wet dreams in adolescence, always being humiliated and needing to hide the fact it had happened. It was a huge cause of stress (I was very, very afraid of taking a nap in school, lest I have one and get a wet spot on my pants in school, or anywhere else in public!), and really keyed into my anxiety.
 
I remember once I had one on a trip with my parents and freaking out to heck and back almost like crying because I’d woken up with one in the hotel in the night and was trying to wash the underwear in the bathroom and for some reason was terrified of my parents finding out. That’s anxiety for you. And that kind of anxiety and humiliation over stained underwear shows part of why diapers are so great to me.
 
Funny thing, I’d always been absolutely terrified I’d have one at a sleepover, then I met that friend who was into diapers, and I spent the night at his place and we had diapers, and that was the one time I’ve ever had a wet dream on a sleepover - when wearing a diaper, hah. Hmm. If I didn’t have this account and get all into the diaper fetish, would my life be better or worse off right now? Really, really hard to say one way or the other.
 
All things in balance, I guess. As long as it doesn’t eat peoples’ lives, then I guess having it off of shoulders as a burden isn’t necessarily a bad thing. That’s probably my main concern. If this gets people deeper into diapers, it may cause them issues when they try to have relationships down the road. Oh I’ve been doing this stuff for most of my life. I think that no matter what I think I’ll keep going down this path, I’ve tried to stop a number of times but, I guess it’s just too deep rooted. I brought myself here so, any issues I get from doing all this is on me. It’s not exactly that you brought me down the deep end rather, I went to the deep end myself and found others there. I can’t speak for others but, without you I’d still have the problems but, with you I only see good things.  
Is this getting too mushy? I’m speaking completely objectively!

Well… thanks. But I’m still a bit uncertain if it’s gonna be a good thing in the long run. But… I dunno. Who knows what the future holds, anyways? But I really worry I’ve given you an issue you’ll face with a future mate.
 
If diapers are nothing but a fantasy and you marry it’s one thing. But if you’re used to actually wearing and wetting them then that’s a whole different level of issue if the SO isn’t so big on it.
 
And other things, like distracting from better things in life like building up skills in other staff areas and other hobbies more relatable to others in general.

Then I see some old comment listing “Vore, diaper, scat and Gore” as the top weird fetishes on the site.
 
It upsets me a little seeing it put up with Gore, vore (which usually involves death), and as a bit of a germaphobe, myself, scat, but at least getting feces smeared on your face isn’t lethal (though it my be for me by heart attack).

Hah, I dunno. I’m in like the exact same spot with diapers. Only with diaper art I’m thinking it’s effectively porn. By all accounts I should probably remove my uploads… but I dunno. I just hate it whenever stuff is taken down and I’m not so sure and a lot of it is just simply cute and it’s better than people getting drawn towards grimdark stuff or looking at porn with real actors… arg!
 
But I dunno what to say. What you get with comments is just a gut reaction. I’m sure with enough time and understanding your partner will be ok with it. When people first see the diaper fetish I can understand why they’d group it with all the others. To them it’s all weird so, they group it all together.  
Plus, lots of people here have already made great points about it not being as strange as it sounds. If you tell your partner some of those it’ll help her to understand.

I assumed most people here are like that, but I was wondering whether any of you had a preference, no matter how slight.
 
Like, I guess a hypothetical scenario I could have thought of to see where everyone’s preferences lie would be something to the effect of: you and your significant other are ready for a fun night in. However, you quickly discover you only have one diaper left. Who wears it? Of course, this isn’t a perfect scenario since it assumes you wear the same size (or are they one size fits all? I dunno) and I suppose nothing prevents you from taking turns aside from it seeming a bit unsanitary. But I digress.
 
I dunno, I guess that’s something interesting about this fetish for me. A lot of people seem to be into both wearing them and seeing others wear them. I guess that’s just kind of interesting to me because most fetishes I know of are either things people prefer seeing their partner do or doing to their partner. With most fetishes I’m aware of, people seem to prefer being on the “giving” or “receiving” end, for lack of more precise terminology. Diapers are the only one from the top of my head where being into both sides of it seems to be the rule rather than the exception.

Heh, good point. They are mostly guys. But the internet as a whole is mostly guys, too, and I think higher aggression means even if both sexes thought it was abhorrent equally often, you’d be more likely to hear about it from guys, just on average.
 
Hmm. I guess odds are a bit more in my favor, though, since I want a smart and open-minded one, and the latter part is a huge deal, while intelligence is linked with how often fetishes occur. I mean, not even just diaper fetish, it’d be nice to try different things and positions in general.

Hmm. That’s a bit of a hard one. It would really depend on what she’d rather do.
 
If she’s ambivalent and good with either… as I currently am I think I might wear it just for utility. I really don’t know how bad girls wet from sexytimes, some porn comics depict Twilight as dripping but I’m pretty sure that’s exaggeration? but I think me wearing it might help keep things sanitary more than If she does and we smash, heh.

I kinda regret not wording that part of my post the way I originally had it.
 
What I meant is that men and women tend to want different things out of relationships, especially the more intimate aspects of them. There’s a reason behind the stereotype that after sex, women want to cuddle and men want to just go to sleep. Probably would have been more accurate to say loved instead of attractive, really.
 
Although, as with all generalizations, there are always exceptions. I was actually going to mention how I’ve read a couple psychology articles about how guys tend to have more one-track minds when it comes to what turns them on but then I thought “but LightningBolt is a clear exception.” Then again, given how you mentioned how you don’t have any girls to talk to about fetish stuff, I’m sure you probably already realized that.
 
I dunno, it seems as though every fetish community I’ve seen has been noticeably predominantly male. It’s to the point that in some fetish circles, anyone so much as claiming to be female is looked on with suspicion until they provide pics or some other proof. But now I’m really straying from my original point.

I was actually going to say something along those lines, but the original wording I thought of wasn’t very good and I ended up dismissing the idea of including that in my post. My only supporting thought was the whole “woman presenting for their mate” trope that often appears in porn.

I would like to be enticing to my mate, certainly, and the fact that it’s usually mares doing this is probably more just a reflection of how it’s overwhelmingly men who view porn, which has been chalked up to men being more visually stimulated more than anything else.
 
And a woman who wanted to sneak in and get an inside look at men’s life, and so did a pretty amazing trans job (no surgery, just really good at sneaking it) and made a group of guy friends pretending to be one for a few months noted how for men it’s more like fulfilling an appetite, while for women it was more emotional.
 
And of course, when it’s just fulfilling an appetite, it’s not really fulfilling, so it’s rather sad…
 
But evolutionarily it makes sense, stemming from how men can have virtually unlimited offspring while women can have comparatively few, meaning it’s not beneficial or worthwhile for them to expend resources to go out hunting for a mate like men do, so even after they’ve selected someone as an acceptable/ideal mate, they still don’t have as much “go out and hunt” instinct.
 
And even further and into fetishes; since men focus more on the “appetite” part (having a stronger libido) it makes sense men are far more likely to fixate on fetishes as opposed to an ideal partner. While women’s focus is more on (metaphorically) getting full, men’s focus is more on the delicious taste, so of course they’re more prone to obsess over particular flavors and foods, and not so much the individual on the other end.
 

 
Now, these are all only vague, statistical generalizations - I, and I think quite a few other men here - have waifus of their choice that we obsess over. But I think we all shift around and a good enough picture of our favorite fetish on another pony will still do the job for us as much as on almost any other - generally speaking.
 
The thing about this kind of thing is it’s not a solid rule. You can find plenty of exceptions to it, too - men who are more like women in these ways and women who are more like men - but at the end of the day, the numbers still add up to where it’s more often men filling fetish groups and looking at porn - quick fixes to appetite - and women reading and writing romance novels - a far more in-depth experience than a relatively quick look at a picture.
 

 
And that’s not to say men don’t need emotional fulfillment, either, we most certainly freaking do - but we usually end up so thirsty we’ll gladly take even salt water to quench the thirst, if only for a fleeting moment - or candy or some cheap substitute for food because we’re starving. Porn and masterbation allow for some tiny taste of what we seek and that’s why they’re so irresistable, but only for a tiny, brief period of time before reality reminds us

On that note, I am trying to abstain from that stuff more - I’ve now heard even from “heretics” (jokingly using the word) who have written articles for porn sites and such that abstaining for a bit really does bring back a lot of energy and enthusiasm for life. It makes a lot of sense - if you often get a blinding spotlight in your eyes for brief moments, your ability to see faint lights is going to be really hurt. Sensory adaptation is a basic thing in psychology/physiology.
 
Now I know someone’s going to get mad and throw studies at me or whatever. I’m really not interested in getting involved in that battle - do as you will, but I want to give this a shot, myself.

I mean, I’ve been in mostly male dominated sites too. I talk like a guy, I act like one, etc. I don’t really mind, but it is kinda silly when people make statements like that when they could just ask how I feel. :P
