Which one? If you mean Athos, the sage I mentioned, than yes. He appears in the second-to-last chapter and kicks more ass than the three lords combined. The Legendary Heroes have more of an impact in Binding Blades, due to their weapons being needed for the true ending.

I remember Athos appearing a little before that in the story (remember, chapter 25 was the farthest I ever got) and a couple others appearing as NPCs.

Yeah, since I never beat the main story, that means I never unlocked Hector’s story either. And as I understand it Hector’s story was basically Hard Mode.

I don’t know about Punching, it might not play nice with the other weapons.
