Cannon Busters ep 8. The metaphors were even more on-the-nose this ep.
I liked Sam and Philly having different ideas of what friendship is. I like it when shows don’t depict friendship as a one-size-fits-all concept.
Casey’s story hurt so good. They are taught they only have value if they are useful to other people, to the point where they can’t function when they’re not “useful.” And they’re abandoned not even when they’re completely useless, just as soon as something better comes along. Indistinguishable, interchangeable, self-less. They’re just Help, and Help is disposable.
What a great show is turning out to be. Took several eps to get past being just a fun but shallow action vehicle, but when it wants to elevate itself, it nails it.
Re:Stage ep 8. I was very surprised they would even hint at Aone being problematic. I don’t mind, though. The show has executed its drama pretty well so far.
I was so worried that Mana’s encounter with Sango would send Mana back down her depression hole, good thing Sayu and Kae were there for her. I liked Mana picking up her friends’ morale in the end, paying off what Sayu had said about her the previous ep and reinforces why the group stands up for her when she can’t.
Sango strikes the right balance of fun and infuriating for me, but she also seems pretty obsessive. Even though their encounter was framed comedically, I am honestly worried she is going to do something terrible to Mana, possibly inadvertently.
Aikatsu Friends ep 71. The setup felt a little dubious, but Reflect Moon deciding they need time apart in order for their own personal growth was very good.
