Machikado Mazoku ep 10. I would’ve never guessed she and Honshou Aru have the same VA.
 
I loved Shamiko lighting up when Mom protected her from Ogura, and Momo’s little smile when Shamiko agreed to cook for her.
 
Momo betraying her ideals because she didn’t want take away Ryo’s smile was so precious. Reminds of Nako occasionally break her stereotype. And the fact that Momo only shows this vulnerability around Shamiko and her family shows how close they’ve gotten. This is what the best slice-of-life shows do, just little scenes that add a lot to the character.
 
Shamiko feeling the pressure to live up to Ryo impossible expectations was highly relatable. So is Momo and Ryo wanting to take pics of Shamiko in her battle costume.
 
 
Given ep 10. Cooldown ep, coming down from the very emotional performance.
 
I liked that Mafuyu is so comfortable now that he can just casually drop that his guitar belongs to his dead boyfriend. I also liked that everyone but Akihiko acted like that was normal thing to say.

Have you ever considered actually fucking watching anime so you can have something substantial to contribute? So many fucking good series right now and you’re posting about a goddamn KFC dating game. Is that how little you think of anime?

I wish anime movies were as accessible to the West as tv series. I got about ten 2019 movies on my to-watch list, and Promare might be the only one I actually get to watch this year.

Granbelm ep 11. The show gets back to Mangestu and Shingetsu just talking, which is when it’s at its best.
 
Despite a lot of words of encouragement from Mangestu, this was a very sad ep that felt like a finale. But there still two eps left, which makes me rather suspicious.
 
I wish I could be more confident about this show. But with how nebulous its world-building has been and the way it ties its character drama to its mechanics, it’s hard to be super confident it’ll stick the landing.

Symphogear XV ep 11. This fucking show.
 
Interesting reveal about the Curse of Balal. The tag team fight was awesome. Loved the call back to the concert.
 
O Maidens ep 11. A number of highly questionable decisions this ep that will definitely not be resolved in the finale, except for the last one. I absolutely approve of the club standing up for Sonezaki. Fuck the school.

Aikatsu on Parade: This, too, is Aikatsu.  
Boku no Hero Academia S4: I hope the writing can maintain its quality now that the status quo has changed so much.  
Azur Lane: I expect it to be better than the KanColle anime.  
Honzuki no Gekokujou (Ascendance of a Bookworm): Librarian isekai.  
Rifle is Beautiful: Studio 3Hz doing Girls With Guns.  
Houkago Saikoro Club: School-club anime about board games.  
Beastars: Furry anime by Studio Orange (Land of the Lustrous.)  
Africa no Salaryman: Also furry.  
Hoshiai no Sora: Badminton anime, written and directed by Kazuki Akane (Escaflowne, which I should rewatch).  
Ahiru no Sora: Basketball.  
Watashi, Nouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne: Isekai by Masahiko Ohta (Gabriel Dropout).  
Fate/Grand Order Babylonia: Mash’s shield is a metaphor for inaccessibility.  
Blade of the Immortal 2019: I never saw the original.  
Z/X Code Reunion: Video game anime?  
Kono Yuusha ga Ore TUEEE Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru: Another video game anime.  
Tenka Hyakken: Meiji-kan e Youkoso: It’s like Azur Lane except with sword-girls instead of ship-girls.

Beastars source material is generally well-regarded, and Orange is a good studio.

 
Dr. Stone ep 11. Loved Senku’s talk with Suika. This show’s depiction of science as something that takes a lot of effort but can fundamentally improve people’s lives is outstanding.
 
 
Aikatsu Friends ep 74. I Believe literally climbed a mountain to gather resolve for their competition, and then threw themselves off a cliff to rush back for the event. I also appreciate this kids’ show framing eating vegetables and drinking black coffee as difficult obstacles for LMT. This, too, is Aikatsu.
 
 
Cannon Busters ep 11. Poor Odin, he had no idea what he was up against. Of course, Kelby stood no chance either, but I understand the decisions he made this ep. At least he didn’t go alone.
 
Sam just shrugging Bridge off was amazing and hilarious. I also liked Sam talking back to Kelby. He was having a really bad day, so I won’t hate on him for saying some pretty terrible things, but I’m glad Sam stood up for herself.

HOLY SHIT YES, FINALLY! They’re actually making Kyatto Ninden Teyandee merch for the first time since the 90s.
