Haven’t seen it. Didn’t watch much of the old Sailor Moon either.  
What’s Crystal? A Remake? Sequel? Side-story?

A faithful adaptation of the original manga with modern production values.

A modern reimagining of the og Sailor Moon manga, being more faithful to it than the first anime.
 
The first 2 seasons, unfortunately, became infamous for it’s shoddy animation budget. Even though the home video version had better (dare I say great) animation, it still holds that reputation.
 
I was curious on what people think of it after 5 years. I only recently watched the first 2 episodes.

I recall hearing people say Season 3 is the best one. Even those who dislike the first two seasons have said it’s an improvement.

Though the first two have a better opening IMO.

Well, people shat on Kemono Friends for the Sam reason and now it’s one of many people’s favorite series.

Kemono Friends was awesome. Though I’ve heard season 2 dropped the ball a bit. Still need to watch it myself.

S2 opens with Serval’s memory of Kaban being erased, which I hated. Dropped it soon after.

Kemono Friends season 2 was actually really good and gets most of its hate because of the stuff behind the scenes. In fact, I’d say season 2 might be better than season 1.

It’s kinda sad we probably won’t get another season of Kemono Friends because Kemono Friends season 2 is probably the most underrated anime series of all time

Symphogear XV ep 13. They did it.
 
God damn, I loved that it was an open hand that reached out to Miku at the end of their fight. Good send off for Carol as well. Post-credits had me bawling.

Could you elaborate on this a little? I can think of several things KF2 did worse than KF1 without bringing up any behind the scenes events. (I’m not trying to say you shouldn’t like KF2 or anything, just curious how/why you think it’s better.)

I think it is better because it takes the concept of season 1 and expands upon it, like how the characters in the universe has merchandise made of them.
