have any of you heard about KK Downing joining Ross the Boss on stage as a guest for this year’s Bloodstock Festival? well let me tell you I was there on Sunday (& Friday & Saturday) for it & I must say Downing really put on one hell of a show when he came on.

So here’s a possibly unpopular opinion: I don’t want Geoff Tate back in Queensrÿche.
 
A lot of fans say they want him to rejoin the band, but honestly, Todd La Torre is doing a decent job on lead vocals, and from the video footage I’ve seen, Geoff’s singing voice just isn’t what it used to be.
 
If any member from the founding lineup were to rejoin the band, I’d want to see a return from original co-lead guitarist Chris DeGarmo. He wrote a good number of the songs, and IMO, his parting from the band is where things really started to fall apart way more than Geoff’s departure.
 
_{Note: Obviously, this is all hypothetical, and I doubt any of them will actually rejoin, especially since founding drummer Scott Rockenfield left the band himself recently.}

On a related note, man, Operation: Mindcrime is such a damn good album that I’m… almost dreading listening to its sequel, Operation: Mindcrime II, for my inevitable Was It Really That Bad? review of it.

So Trump walked out with Enter Sandman blasting through and I can’t tell if it’s fake or not.

I just listened to a clip of Queensrÿche performing Take Hold of the Flame in 1984, and I now believe that Geoff Tate may have just been one of the best vocalists of the 1980s, even up there with Bruce Dickinson.
 
So what the hell went wrong? Why does he sound like crap now?
