Ughh, I looked at my save file and saw I managed to rack up 25 hours of Ultra Sun in two days. No wonder I felt burnt-out last night.
 
Oh… and apparently, turning your game off stops time running in the Pelago, because the playtime left remaining is still over 16 hours. Either that, or maybe it’s because I realised that my 3DS clock was wrong and fixed it. If so, it’s incredibly infuriating that I have to wait longer now.
 
Actually, it would be faster if I just grinded. Great design, Game Freak.

Yeah, turning off your game shouldn’t stop the time running in the Pelago.

It’s from you changing the clock, and that is to stop people from cheating by changing the time to get things done intensely.  
So don’t knock Game Freak for doing it.

Heck it’s not just Game Freak, other games have the same thing happen if you switch the clock to try and move time in game like that.

I’m in Vast Poni Canyon right now, getting pretty close to the end. While I do feel like this run is still winnable, my team took a couple heavy blows with the loss of Duke and Sunburst. I honestly think Duke would still be with us if I stuck to my original strategy of just keeping him as a Crabrawler with Eviolite. While his defenses would only be marginally better stat-wise, a pure fighting type has a lot less weaknesses than ice/fighting and it was one of those new weaknesses that did him in.
 
But with losses come new teammates. I added an Alolan Grimer and a Slowpoke that has since become a Slowbro. They’re definitely going to have to catch up in levels. I also renamed Lois to Blossomforth since the former was just a placeholder name. So, to recap, that makes the squad:
 
Prancer (Furfrou) - Lv. 55  
Matilda (Mudsdale) - Lv. 54  
Dollface (Mimikyu) - Lv. 53  
Blossomforth (Tsareena) - Lv. 47

But it’s not because I was trying to cheat, it’s because the clock on my 3DS was forward by one hour. Yeah, I put the time BACK and it still punished me.

No…in fact Incineroar is the only stater that got anything noteworthy.

I’m grinding Krave the Noibat up to as high as I can be bothered. He’s already level 40 when everyone else is 35-ish… but he can’t OHKO a level 27 Cleffa with Hidden Power Poison.
 
Why does Noibat evolve so late? Like, for something that’s so weak, 35 or something would be a fairly late level to evolve, never mind 48!!

It needed a middle evolution. Mienshao and Larvesta have the same fucking problem. Though in the games they were introduced you did get them pretty late anyway, but it’s no excuse. Deino also has ridiculous levels even for a psuedo.

I think late evolution is the trademark of dragon types. They’re like the opposite of bug types in that regard.

But Noibat is the weakest Dragon-type. That’s the biggest problem here. You know what’s stronger than Noibat? GOOMY! Noibat’s BST is 245, but Goomy’s is 300! And it evolves sooner! And evolves TWICE!
 
If they wanted to have it evolve that late, they should have made it stronger. Larvesta has a base Attack of 85, and so does Zweilous. Noibat’s highest stat? 55 in speed. Meanwhile, flippin’ Magnemite has a base Sp. Atk of 95.

I’m going to enter the next island with this as my team.

I never used Noibat/Noivern so I didn’t realize its base stats were so low. Also I kinda misread your post before.
 
Yeah, that sounds like effectively holding onto a Magikarp for over twice as long. So they definitely could have made a much less frustrating way of sticking it out with that thing. I get that the point of a lot of dragon types like the Goodra, Garchomp, and Dragonite lines are patience and rewarding you for sticking for a long time with Pokemon that start weak and then become late game powerhouses, but it sounds like in this case, they kinda got carried away.

Ugh. Okay, Lopunny is too useful to drop. No water type for me then, it’ll be a struggle to have any new mons to catch up so I think my team is set.

Now I just need to get to Lush Jungle.

Decidueye got some good Ghost moves like Ominous Wind, Shadow Sneak, and Phantom Force. It also got Leaf Storm.

That was me by the way, and..good for it I guess. But I was definitely interested in what Prim would get. What a waste. It should have gotten boomburst, calm mind, some form of recovery (moonlight maybe?), and more coverage options.

I dislike some first stage Pokemon that don’t evolve until past 40. Litwick, for example. I mean, Chandelure is a Sp.Atk beast, but you have to grind that stumpy candle until it’s 41, when it has a BST of 275. Lampent almost seems like an afterthought, since you probably already have all the moves you want on Litwick, and will.use your Dusk Stone on it immediately after it evolves.
 
I’m particularly annoyed at Mienfoo (50), Pawniard (52), Rufflet/Vullaby (54), and Larvesta (59!)
 
Like seriously, you’re pretty much on the Elite Four’s doorstep by the time you can get a Volcarona.
