I often think that was looked at as a joke my the translators so they didn’t bother changing it.  
Also I don’t think it was the same people as the main line games doing the translation for it as well.

There’s also that scene in Sun/Moon with two chicks salivating over a Machock (or was it a Machamp?) but than it turns out was just a guy in a suit but it’s not clear if the women realized that.
