I was looking through a hashtag on Twitter and I saw a couple of response to the poster saying that sonic is dead.yeah I’m pretty sure it’ll take more than one that bad live action adaptation(assuming it does end up being bad) to kill a franchise

Eh, people have been saying Sonic’s been dead sense after the Dreamcast… Nothing new there. A guy here on Derpi even cussed me out about how much he hates Sonic, and insists he’s dead recently. (Apparently, he got in trouble with an admin, but I didn’t report him.)
 
Ironically, Sonic’s survived worse, while other popular franchises from the ’90s fell into obscurity now.

I love how in one of the new Deadpool trailers, he actually points out the ignorance, and the annoyance in those that like to hate/bash something, just because it’s popular to do so.

If Sonic ‘06 and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric didn’t kill the franchise, then there’s no way a potentially crappy live-action adaptation will kill it.

…Oh god.
 
What if they make a game based off of the live-action movie?

I know this is a bit off topic but I just don’t want to meet in another thread.  
Speaking of the Mario movie one of the things I’ve heard Shigeru Miyamoto said about that movie that is may have tried to be too close to the game

Honestly seeing naoto hoshimas opinion on the new design is pretty heartbreaking  
It’s funny to think that even though sonic is a corporate mascot, it’s still his OC and I can only imagine how rough this is for him

It did have references to the Mario games actually. Even some rather subtle ones like Mario confronting King Koopa on a bridge for example.

What did he say? It’s in Japanese for me, and I can’t translate it on my current device.  
Still, everyone should have their own opinions, rather then just copy & paste others’, even if it’s one of the character’s creators.  
In fact, the creator of Willie Wonka hated the original movie adaptation, and didn’t like Gene Wilder’s beloved take on the character.

He compared sonic and Mickey mouse to fairytale creatures and how they don’t need realistic designs to be beloved, but he still wishes the best for cast and crue

I see, I do kinda agree, I hope his face at least looks cartoonier, but I don’t mind the body preportions honestly, and we can’t even tell how realistic he is.

It’s nice to see somebody can criticise, and be a li’l more optmistic too.  
He even admitted he liked “Rampage,” which I hear was actually not bad. I mean, gamers didn’t complain about them changing the monsters’ designs, orgins, and stuff. (I mean I can understand George being albino now, to differ him from King Kong, and such.)

one little interesting thing about Rampage Dwayne Johnson would skip school so he could play the game.  
if you want to travel back in time and tell that little boy he was starting a film of it it was totally blow his mind( if he actually believe you and didn’t think you were a nutter)

Yeah, but the overall tone of the movie was very different, though I did like a lot of the subtle references. There was apparently an earlier draft that was much closer in tone to the games, and even some concept art for the movie we actually got where King Koopa actually looked like his game counterpart, but it was shelved.
 
Although looking back, the earlier draft probably wouldn’t have worked in live-action back in 1993.

It’s funny to hear he was a fan of the game in his youth.
 
I actually had “Rampage” in “Midway Arcade Treasures,” (GameCube) so I always loved that game, and it’s N64 semi-sequel “Rampage World Tour” which I played with friends as a kid. I’d always chose Lizzie, ‘cause nobody else wanted to be “the girl.” lol
 
I also played the new mini arcade Rampage arcade machine at Walmart, and it actually works very good.

Yeah, special effects weren’t as good, or too expensive back then.  
And I’ve seen those concepts. Interestingly, they were even going to use the flying Doomships, even though they weren’t common in the Mario series back then.

I’m still indifferent, I don’t know what’s going on with that bump but I don’t like it.
 
I saw rampage and I don’t want to sound petty but I thought it was awful for one reason and it’s one scene where someone snuck in their kink. I ain’t gonna spoil but it rhymes with door

If you mean, ”vore” keep in mind in the original “Rampage” games, the monsters DID eat people to recover health, so I don’t think that was intentionally kinky, or anything, I think you’re looking too into that.

Nah, in the games it lasted about 3 seconds and was for comedic effect. This was played mostly straight and only happens once and last over 20 seconds
