Same. It doesn’t help that even positive reviews will inevitably mention how “lame” Sonic’s friends are (just look at some of the reviews for Team Sonic Racing).
 
Unleashed had a better balance of exploration and speed, at least in the later Daytime stages anyway.

I still think that if you tweaked the Werehog gameplay from Unleashed and sped it up a bit, it would be a great basis for a beat-em-up Knuckles spin-off game.
 
Maybe have Adventure-style treasure hunting as side missions to unlock extras.

They actually weren’t, but one in particular was weirdly angry at Silver’s inclusion, saying that he’s “annoying” and “pointless”.

So I found this when I was looking at pictures on Know Your Memes for the upcoming cats movie

I’m sooooo sick of that overused movie Sonic image. lol  
(Especially, sense he looks better in other scenes, and they are changing the whole design anyway, so I don’t get why people are still having a cow over it. Not accusing you of that, or anything BTW.)
 
As for “Cats.” Ugh… I much prefer the original “Cats” make-up & outfits, and hell even Sonic’s old hated movie “teeth” design.

I’m not a special effects expert but I think it might have actually been cheaper and easier to use makeup and outfits

To be fair, first impressions are important, especially when it comes to this fanbase, and the initial design for Sonic wasn’t really the best, all things considered. The redesign might be better, who knows, but best to wait.
 
As for Cats, I just think it would have been better to just stick with a fully animated film. It’s clearly motion capture, making the whole thing nearly a hybrid, and it’s based on cats acting like, well, cats, at least as far as I’m aware.  
Or at the very least, add in moare cat-like features so it can be more believable, rather than tryin to look like Cat in the Hat 2.

I admit, it was flawed yes, so I’m not some kinda “Sonic movie apologist,” but at the same time I wasn’t really as upset about it as the rest of the internet. Still, I think people still flipping out over it, despite the fact, they’re giving in to their demands, and improving it is a bit overkill, and that is what I have a problem with.
 
Honestly, given how hard it is to please Sonic fans, some will probably hate the new design no matter how it looks. Personally, I’m more concerned about the story itself, as honestly it doesn’t look like it’ll be an award winner, but hopefully it’ll still be entertaining.
 
As for first impressions, it kinda depends on the situation. If I decided I didn’t like a game just from the first time I played it, I’d hate alot of games I now love best.
 
And as for Cats, I do agree making them more cat-like like the original stage show would be better. It’s basically the opposite situation from Sonic, where Sonic needs to be less realistic/hedgehog-like, while cats needs to be a bit more cat-like.
