So who actually thinks the Sonic movie will be good?

Good movie? Possible, but I wouldn’t bet more than the cost of a ticket on it.  
Fun to talk about and make fun of? Seems a lot more likely.

Like not “Aladdin” great, but more like “Return of Jafar” ok. (In fairness, that wasn’t originally meant to be a sequel, and just meant to be the first 3 episodes of the TV show originally.)

I’ll likely catch a $5 Tuesday showing at the Larry H. Miller Megaplex when it comes out.

I’ll go see it, but I’m expecting it to be a surprisingly good movie at best, and hilariously bad at worst.

I’d wish we’d get a new official English dub that keeps the original 2 OVA format.

They’d probably redo it with modern voices, like Roger Craig Smith, and such. (Which would be kinda cool actually.)
 
Though, admittedly, I still love the original cornball classic dub, (especially, sense it had a classic Sonic cartoon nod by calling the city “Robotropolis”) and if they do a new one, it’s unlikely Sega will ever allow the original dub to be rereleased, especially with their “Sonic can only have one VA in all media at a time” policy/mandate.

Now we got people begging for the original movie design? Can’t please everyone.
 
Also, it might be impossible to release the “original cut” of the movie, with the original design in tact, as they probably weren’t even finished animating Sonic, and such in it. (And they possibly threw it all out/deleted it.)  
Heck, Krang’s design in “TMNT2: Out of the Shadows” (another controversial movie which I actually enjoyed) wasn’t even finalized ‘till a few months before the movie came out in theaters. (This is why Krang’s android body is inconsistent in the merchandise/action figure line, and superbowl ad, and why the final one looks more mechanical.)

It’s a li’l understandable, as they want to keep the voices consistent, though they seem to be making an exception for the movie. Or maybe they’re doing that to differentiate it from the games, and other media.

it might be a joke but if they’re being serious I don’t think they want that one to be the definitive version just optional. to be fair it would be interesting to watch the film was that design or at least it seems they actually finished
