ahhh, it’s fine. every franchise needs a black mark or two. it adds character. dc has o’steel, marvel has the low budget captain murika, star wars has the entire prequel trilogy, mlp has the idw comics, resident evil has resident evil 5, devil may cry has dmc, sanic has sanic bewm: rise of spermatozoon, sanic ’06, the adventures of sanic the hedgeheg…

am I the only one who almost always prefers verses in songs over the choruses?  
like, I know the chorus is the part that’s supposed to grab you, but in most cases I’ve found that I prefer the verses (or really, basically any part of the song that doesn’t repeat throughout the song)  
there are some exceptions of course (especially in songs where there aren’t any parts that don’t repeat) but this seems to hold most of the time

I don’t usually prefer any specific part of a song per se (in fact, if I hear a piece of something that grabs me, I’ll go outta my way to try and hear the whole thing, which in some cases means finding the “extended” version) but what you’ve said really resonates with me (sorrynotsorry).
 
For example, I used to hate We Will Rock You because it was just one of those insipid, inane chants that was on of the hallmarks of the typical pep rally. (Seriously, why the fuck do those things exist?) It wouldn’t be until, like, I suppose around the tail-end of adolescence before I found out the song even had verses, let along the fucking sweet guitar solo at the end.
 
In fact, for that matter, I used to hate lots of songs by Queen, and it was always because somebody else ruined them. (I’m looking at you, Vanilla Ice.)

I never listen to lyrics in songs. More interested in the music itself.

yeah, I’m exactly the same. again there are exceptions (and a lot of the time I just like the way the lyrics sound even if I’m not listening to what they’re actually saying (or can’t understand what they’re actually saying)) but like what I said before this applies most of the time.

same here. nothing against lyrics, I know what they’re there for and what good music lyrics look like, but I always preferred listening to the music’s melody.

damn.. why do I forget the name of a song I know I listened to quite a lot one time and even sang the lyrics of too..
