Actually, the protests weren’t banned, except in Strasbourg where the attack took place.  
Instead, some politics (macronists, but also LR and RN) have tried to call the yellow vests to suspend their movement, which the left-wing opposition denounced as an opportunistic move (and which the yellow vests seem to have no intent to obey anyway).
 
In related news, some shitheads are swamping the yellow vests’ Facebook pages with conspiracy theories about this attack. Looks like the Russian bots (literal and/or proverbial) are at it again, after their failed attempt to frame the movement as pro-Trump.

You know with all these many people around Trump getting jailed on top of the fact that even prosecutors admit Trump himself broke laws it’s gonna be a damn shame if he’s the one guy out of his entire empire that doesn’t get arrested.
 
Worse is that it’ll be a tacit confession that Presidents are in fact above the law.

I think he’s set up his son and daughter to take most of the blame, so he’ll be fine. And then he can “save them” if the worse happens.
 
I mean, come on - he’s a New York land lord, and a celebrity whose entire career consists of dodging debts, suing people until they give up and let him have his way, sneaking into women’s changing rooms, and fake-firing people.
 
He’s never really been in a situation where he had to face the music. He just keeps dancing while everyone around him falls.

And that’s partially why this entire thing is so infuriating. Trump is just so dumb. Every time he gives an interview or speech (doubly hilarious if it’s a Fox News interview) he implicates himself/confesses to another crime because he’s just too stupid not to, and there’s still the possibility that he will once again get away with it.

Unless the statute of limitations runs out. Some of the things Trump is charged with can only be acted on if he loses the 2020 election. If he wins, the statute of limitations runs out.
 
This is the kind of shit that happens when the person who is the head of the Justice Department is also alleged to be a criminal, who the Justice Department is supposed to investigate and indict, so that the alleged criminal can … prosecute themselves?
 
This is why checks and balances are so important, and why Trump is working so hard to make sure there aren’t any.

@Derpy Whooves IMO I don’t get all this “alt right” dumbassery anyway. Didn’t we used to have evangelism and Paleocons to separate them? Why the merge?  
Pulling the same horrible idea as the dems, umbrella unification of two groups with absolutely nothing in common aside from primary voting choice. We saw where that led already.  
Also it makes me think of terrible 90s hipster bands.
