I just wanted to be sure he wasn’t like them. I was just PRETENDING to be like them in order to be sure. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea ok?

No you weren’t, don’t try to weasel out of accepting your actions. You chose to attack someone for enjoying a game and talking about beating it. You chose to be a rabid fanboy who snaps at people who enjoy different things than you. Honestly, if this is any indication, the reason that people attack you on other forums is because you attacked them first than try to act like you were “testing them” when you get called out for your behavior.

You know, you’re not being any better in doing such accusations. I was the first one who was attacked to begin with, don’t even dare to say that I would be the one who is in the wrong. If I do have to stay this uncomfortable even here, then I’m leaving this place as well. I’d rather die than forcing myself to change my tastes only to adequate myself to the mass. If this is how things are going to go then I won’t be part of this. Goodbye.

Honest corruption
I’m still convinced that Background Pony is a troll trying to make Nintendo fans look bad.

I mean noone can lack that much self awareness, right?

I’m convinced that none of the nonsense they’ve said about these Sony fans has actually happened, and their paranoia and subsequent bad attitude over it has been what turned people against them, given that we seem to have just witnessed it first-hand.

Assuming they’re not actually a troll, anyway.

Pretty soft for a Sony.
So I wonder when should I mention that I own a 3DS, a Switch, a PS3 and a PS4. I actively play games on all of those systems, I like those systems and plan to keep using them. And I make it a point to not judge people if they play on the Xbox, even they I don’t like it, or don’t like a system that I like.
But in reality all of that is moot, because I prefer the PC over al of those systems, and I prefer Linux over Windows so…

The fact that my PS3 and PS4 have disc drives make them exceptionally useful to keep around to play Blu-Ray movies, the fact that the industry is trying to kill off disc based media pisses me off to no end.
Would the world be better off without movies on discs like Blu-Ray and be forced to rely on digital downloads only? I used to swear by buying movies with those blu-ray and digital download codes, but now any time I get one of those combo deals they don’t offer a simple Google Play Movies code, they seem to want me to register at some studio page and then I can redeem the code directly to them and get a link to a streaming app…
Sorry but I’m not a fan of streaming movies like it’s YouTube or something… My internet is not always good enough to stream like it’s no big deal. I’d much rather either have the movie on disc or have a app like Google Play movies where I can totally pre-cache the entire movie to my SD card.
And when it comes to getting a game on disc, who doesn’t enjoy a store like Gamestop where you can get cheap used games? If I don’t know if I will like the game or not, I don’t want to pay full price for it, I’d rather get it pre-owned and discounted. Hell sometimes I buy my consoles pre-owned and refurbished.
But if we are really heading to gaming as a service and actually streaming games instead of owning the game on your system, the days of dedicated consoles are pretty much over. This is a issue where the industry decides what’s best for us and not what the consumer wants. I guess the industry is still sore of years of movie, music and video game piracy. You can’t pirate a game if you can’t even access the game files themselves.

In fairness, I’ve met several people online, even a few on this site with similar mental problems actually… So some do tend to overreact over things, due to bad past experiences.

@Terton
I’ve actually been attacked by Sony fanboys for liking Nintendo, as well, (I even got attacked for liking Sega’s Sonic series, as well) so it’s a li’l understandable why some Nintendo fans would develop a bit of a persecution complex.
I used to be afraid to admit I was a Nintendo fan at school, or online, as well, until the fanboyness cooled down online, and people started to see loyalists as annoying, as well.

Plus with things like Nintendo being ignored on some game sites, (some not regarding WiiU or 3DS as legit consoles during the WiiU era) alot of Youtubers being rather critical of Nintendo recently, (whether they deserve it, or not) drama over things like Switch Online, (and people bashing the NES games especially) and stuff like third-party games being released on literally every system, but the Nintendo one, (“Disney Afternoon Collection” a compilation of NES games being the worst offender of this) it’s honestly understandable why some loyal Nintendo fans are getting a tad touchy…

I’ll even admit, I’m a li’l tired of that stuff, but overall Nintendo feels like the “Disney” of the Gaming industry, as they’re both widely loved, and hated at the same time.

One of the best skills that I have ever learned while being on the internet for so long is to actually read people by how they post and communicate online, if I read someone to where I know that I won’t get along with them, I simply leave and go someplace else, why would I want to stick around with people who I won’t get along with? The internet is a huuuuge place.
I’d rather hang out with people who have a good sense of humor and get along with different people.
Kinda like that one meme image about two brownies who have different ship tastes.
“Oh hey bro, nice taste in Rarijack there.”
“Oh wow thanks, that’s a pretty nice Appledash you have there as well!”
“Thanks man!”
Or however it went.
As opposed to them tearing each other apart for not liking the same thing.

Heh exactly! I personally would like to believe that if I buy a game, I can choose to mod it if I wish!
Try modding games on the Stadia!
Also last time I looked into this garbage, I believe the unfortunate reality is that if you buy a game on a disc or cartridge, you unfortunately don’t actually Own that game, you simply purchased a license to access that game.
With digital downloads, especially with DRM, you get access to the game, but that access can evaporate at any time, like when Telltale Games went belly up, ALOT of people lost access to their games.
The Telltale Games situation needs to be brought up whenever people discuss systems like the Stadia.
Gaming as a service is a BAD idea.

I mentioned this before, but in regards to the digital only platform, it’s not necessarily to oppose piracy, as much it is is that companies just really don’t like the idea of their consumers actually owning things. They would much prefer that you lease or rent from them. I think that’s why they’re trying so hard to push for streaming services- If there aren’t any physical copies, that the only way to access the products they have is to pay them, and then keep paying them… Forever.
Even if you purchase a digital copy of something, you don’t actually own it- you own a virtual permission slip that gives you permission to use it. A permission slip that a company can revoke at anytime for any reason, and with no refund.

Yup, exactly.
Also besides those points, this gaming as a service garbage is also the next evolutionary step of monthly DLC content and etc, why buy a game once with one lump payment, when you can keep paying for the game on a monthly basis? Instead of just buying a game, why not a monthly subscription service?

This is why I advocate for more services like GoG. It’s DRM free, so you actually own games when you buy them. The way you preserve them is by keeping the files around, and not hoping that the company will decide you can’t play them anymore after 10 years.
