But the question is how you strike. Sekiro has only one way, since dodging is useless. That way is parry.

But I keep seeing people say that Sekiro’s combat is fairly different from Dark Souls beyond just relying on parries.

Honestly though, doesn’t it seem like From Software has just become “The Soulsborne devs” at this point? Sekiro was apparently supposed to break out of that, but from what I’ve seen it didn’t really accomplish that.

Probably. I’ve never played the game myself. I only watched Gellot’s videos and he spends most of the game parrying.

I thought people said so many times that “If you play this game thinking it’s a Souls game, you’re gonna die a lot”. So it kinda worked?

The last truly phenomenal game in the Elder Scrolls Series was IV aka Oblivion. Skyrim looks nice, but its overrated to me. It didn’t deserve GOTY 2011. They should put it to rest after TES VI, and concentrate on new ideas and Starlink.

It still has a lot of the Souls mechanics, but it’s gameplay is vastly different from Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

Yokai Watch 3 - Chapter 5 spoiler: It was a little surprising and felt a little funny playing as Katie and I also appreciate the AU thing where Katie is the protag instead of Nate.

It’s actually pretty different from Souls. Also step dodging is useful for some bosses but you shouldn’t rely on it because it doesn’t give you iframes like dodge rolling in Souls.

Another thing, the game feels less sluggish than Souls and even bloodborne, since you’re not restricted by a stamina meter. Meaning there’s a lot of scenarios where it’s better to run away and hide. Stealth is also a huge part of the game, and it’s far more narrative driven than Dark Souls.

Man, people call me coward because I play Spy from TF2.

I forget, do we have a more specific release date or even release window for the Link’s Awakening remake on the Switch other than that it’s coming out this year?

In fact, I’ve been playing as spy for a long while and I can sometimes pull out good stuff, I’ve been maining Medic for quite a lot of time, I can often play as engie and yesterday I put a surprisingly good streak in a trade plaza map. Apparentlyy people think I’m a coward because I’m bad at direct combat units.
 
That being side, I also main Pyro, and I love to ambush enemies rather than a straight fight. I firmly believe in victory at any cost (with some boundaries of course but you get what I mean).

Good thing TF2 allows you to use classes that exceed in non-direct combat than.
