Fallout 2 isn’t that good an RPG. When the game doesn’t give me a good reason to care about losing karma via pick-pocketing or when I’m more invested in Shaun from FO4 than my village in FO2, there’s a problem.

Interplay’s also includes a lot of RNG. If you have the skill points to succeed a task, you can still fail it, unlike New Vegas. It’s also bug-filled.

No, but it’s annoying when you’re able to disable a trap or repair a device but you fail and think you need to train more when all you needed to do was spam the Trap or Repair key.

The main problem with the old Fallouts is that enemies also have Luck. This means that even the poorlest, weak enemy can one-shot you in the head. Yeah, I can agree about FO and FO2 having one of the meanest RNG.
Heck, even the guides recommend you to quick save EVERY TIME you encounter an enemy, because you dont even know if you gonna survive.

Try it and tell me how well you fare. Also, I find it funny how Fallout 3 portrayed Fallout 1’s Brotherhood quite well (I haven’t reached them in 2 yet). Also, if you hate “chosen one” stories, you’ll hate how FO2 layers you in it’s cream.
