@Grandfather Mushroom: Equines have a 1:1 sex ratio, because of Fisher’s principle. What you usually see are harem herds, mostly female, but there are also bachelor herds, entirely male.
Where women rule pretty much everything… that actually doesn’t sound bad at all. Worst thing you’ll be sought after by nearly every available mare around you.
The hugely skewed male female ratio is mostly a myth if you actually count the background ponies it’s only like 2 to 1 over all and with Earth Ponies being almost 1 to 1 and making up over half the population. The less numerous Unicorns and Pegasus are like 3 to 1 and skew the overall ratio. Still given the focus of a female cast more likely to interact with other females regally
If you extend the arc of a pony’s eyes the circle is bigger than their head.
Conclusion: pony eyes are not eyeballs, but in fact light-sensitive patches with a thin, Fresnel-style lens and an iris system that can be relocated over a soft cornea.
They can see all the colours humans can, and more! But ponies cannot distinguish between light and darkness being innocent little things.
They probably have a vomeronasal organ and exhibit the flehmen response when other ponies enter heat, but that isn’t shown because this show is for kids.
