Everybody was up in arms about princess twilight, starlight glimmer, cmc cutie marks and flurry heart too. Yet look now, most people eiyher love or are at least okay with those things because they let for more creativity in the plot.
 
It’s all going to depend on how they execute it. If they can justify her brother being an unlikable vain prick, the I’m going to be fine with that. Not every mane6 family member needs to be perfect

I think everyone was pretty “lolwut” when Maud first showed up in her debut episode previews. A little too early to be predicting doom and gloom for his prospects, imo.

Form what I’ve seen and heard, he feels more like a one-off douchebag like Svengallop than a close blood relative of one of the main characters. I really doubt he’s going to be a recurring character like Maud Pie (who the fandom took a liking to immediately), both because he’s annoying and because he probably hits a little too close to home for some.

Eh. When we first met Shining Armor, I found him as boring as wet cardboard. But slowly I’ve been warming up to him. With this guy, I’m wincing… but even that’s more compelling than being bored, and at least it very clearly gives him a direction for his character development to follow from the go. So I figure I’m most likely gonna warm up to him too.
 
Oh, and Big Mac’s “Yup” and “Nope” running gag was unfunny from the start, but I still found him likeable from the go, and cheer every time he gets more development.

You know what? I’ve been thinking about this particular pic, and I just noticed what was so strange about it.
 
This is Fluttershy’s brother. Her very own blood relative. After nearly 6 years, it is finally revealed that this is the brother of one of the main characters of this show. This is her brother in all the episodes, all the movies, all the comics, and even all the fan-created content we’ve ever seen of Fluttershy.
 
It just feels so… surreal. I mean, her parents are fine - i’m even kinda warming up to them. But her brother…
 
No. Just no.
 
I have a feeling that nearly everyone in this fandom is going to blank this episode from their mind in 2 weeks, even if it is the best episode of the season. People don’t like new additions to long-standing things. People don’t like change.

They have some personal accomplishments of their own that they can take rightly-earned pride in. Shiny was captain of the royal guard before he married Cadence, and Big Mac took care of the family farm seemingly single-handed for years. That and both just seem to have more self-respect that Zephyr does.

Yep. This episode’s going to suck, even if it’s best pony….. I knew I wasn’t looking forward to Season 6, besides all the bullshit…..
